2008 E60 LM2 Issues
Hi all,
New to the forum. I recently just purchased a 2008 E60 with a Bad LM2 ( don't know the history behind it ). I ordered a used one from Ebay and installed (on Tuesday) it and all worked good. On Saturday I decided to button up the car and plugged in the OBD2 cable with switch to the right vs the left per instructions and plugged in to laptop when I noticed smoke coming out of the LM2. I had to yank the melting LM2. The question I now have is could the cable being in the wrong switch position cause the melting of the LM? I have now place another order to replace the melted one. Thanks in advance. |

The replacement was plugged in for 4 days and tested before this happened. Maybe a really bad cable? Could a short in a headlight cause this? or will the fuse just go out? |
