McLaren 675LT refuses to let a BMW pass on the track
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com The McLaren driver was shown the blue flag to yield and move aside for my BMW after I tailed for a few laps and got close. There were a few possible opportunities for a pass, but...dat power. Quite amazing to behold. Watch the McLaren 675LT practically disappear on the straights with its 666 hp versus my 300 hp. Combined with its superior cornering ability and lighter weight (400lbs less), it surely can leave my car in a world of dust after one or two corners, but the driver was likely exercising some caution on his $350,000+ toy...while I was exercising as much fun as possible out of the 135i Just one McLaren driver and one BMW driver having lots of fun. However, one of them is arguably having a little more fun... Enjoy the chase! BMW 135i setup: stock tune, 235/265 Hankook R-S3, Ohlins R&T, Quaife LSD, M3 arms/bushings, Vorshlag camber plates at -2.2, PFC-08 pads with RB stainless steel pistons + Castrol SRF |

He was braking a full 1-2 seconds before you were on most corners
Would love to see you drive that Mclaren and show him what his car can do. |

Good driving man! Didn't seem like he was exercising caution as much as he didn't really know how to drive very well. Nice vid though and enjoyed watching!

Nice driving and foot work indeed.....maybe the driver refused to swallow his pride and decided to pit rather than give you the "you're currently faster than me" signal ................Phil

Yes the car is a blast to drive and a large part of it has to do with the three pedals. Very satisfying and rewarding indeed. I really can't imagine it being more fun than it already is. I am content with this car for now. Of course I could be in a better car, but I feel it's more gratifying to develop as a driver first and foremost. Thanks roastbeef |

Having driven the 675LT (one of those pay for 3 laps kind of thing) I would understand why that driver is braking earlier. The car is an absolute joy to drive, however, it's also scary as hell as the amount of power it puts down gets you from 0-fast very quickly. It's easy to say looking at people drive it on the track, but once you actually sit in the thing, it's a rocketship and it just takes off. I'm sure in the hands of someone who's used to 500+HP, it'll be easy.

Nice work in your car! I had one of the first 135i to land in the States and could never make it reliable on the track. Even after adding additional coolers, better brakes (mine crushed the stock Brembo pistons at 145mph going into the Bus Stop at Watkins Glen), I would constantly go into limp mode almost every session when driving above 8/10.
Glad yours seems to be working out for you! Nice footwork! At least the McLaren can say that nobody was able to pass him. |

One of the more enjoyable car videos of any kind i have seen recently.
I realize this is probably a stupid question to all the real track rats but that is Laguna Seca (backwards) right?
