Real Racing 3 - Smartphone Game

I've been playing RR3 for about 8yrs now, and even though it's been a love / hate relationship, I must say that it is very entertaining and realistic for being a phone app.

The drawbacks is that it either takes a lot of money or a lot of playing time to get cars or upgrade cars. But at the end of the day, I like it because it forces you to think about the racing line, enter speed, exit speed, and strategy.

I only have one game in my phone, and this is it. I don't highly recommend it, but if you're bored of your other games, it won't hurt to try it

Anyone else playing?

I love it, as well.
Really great graphics and physics for a phone racing game.

I was borderline addicted to this game about 5 years ago. Played it every day but found it exactly like the OP. Either you pay up (which I would not do) or you had to play all the time to "earn" the cars for free and even then you would need to spend all your gold to get the free cars.
Any other racing games out there or should I give this one a try?

If you haven't played it in 5 years, I can tell you that multi-player is more fun now that cheating was almost eradicated, and there are no collisions, so you just have to focus on your lines.

There is another type of cash called M$ which is capped at $5M. You'll need this about half the time you used to need R$.

If you login every day, you'll get at least 5 gold from watching commercials (capped as well).

Also, if you login every day, you'll either get M$, R$, gold, increase % fame, M$ or R$. If you do this every day w/out skipping a day for a month, you'll get around 200gold. Not a lot, but when you add the gold you get every time you go up in fame level, that is +40 gold (plus the typical gold you earn throughout every race series).

For those new to the game,
The game will let you borrow cars to finish certain race series, to include some top-end cars, so that you don't feel like you have to play the game for years before trying the likes of a Regera or Bugatti.

I know there are ways to cheat in this game (unlimited gold, $, cars), but then you risk losing your account.

Used to play many years ago, but found it way too hard to collect enough money to get new cars... and it was too difficult to cycle through the garage of all the cars owned... can't they show it all on one screen...?

Now I log in once or twice a year just to see what's new.

Wonder if they'd ever put in an X5M

The M6 Coupe in the game was actually one of my favourites back in the early days well before I started liking BMW irl. The m3 GT2 ALMS is also awesome at winning races and fully upgraded.

Figured we could also use this thread to share tips and tricks without cheating.
Not sure if you guys know, but for Endurance events, I put my phone on airplane mode, and now the max. "miles to beat" is significantly reduced.

I do this to save time, to be honest. I find sometimes these endurance events just take way too long and then I might miss it by, like, 0.2 miles. Then have to wait for car to be serviced, come back and invest another +/- 10 minutes for the event all over again.

Put it on airplane mode, run 3-4 minutes, beat 6 miles easy, then just put the phone down until the timer runs out..

A tip regarding the 5 gold 'limit' for watching ads.

After watching your 5 ads for gold, watch 1 ad for the free R$. Then go into your phone settings and adjust your time zone for a zone which is "tomorrow". Go back into RR3 - you'll be able to watch 5 more ads for 5 more gold. Don't watch the ad for free R$ when you're in the 'tomorrow' time zone.

When done, go back to your phone settings and change your time zone back to your local time. Watch 1 ad for the free R$. Now, you can go back to your phone settings and readjust your time zone back to a zone which is "tomorrow" - then back into RR3. For 5 MORE ads and 5 more Gold.

Repeat as often as you want. I'll do this when sitting on the couch watching a ball game or movie and typically can net around 50 Gold in an hour (depending on ad length and cell strength). May not sound like much but it helps.

It's not a hack. The monkeys know all about it - I think it's even discussed in their RR3 wiki.

Wow, I like where this is going

I'll give those tips a try.

Here are some of my own:

In an effort to earn gold, one of the methods I regularly use is "Leveling up" using "Fame" points. And to maximize my points I do the following:
- Every time the "Agent" is available for free to earn 2X the amount of "Fame" points I race "Cup, Circuit Des 24 Heures"
- It's 10 laps around Le Mans and it usually takes me 26min. to finish
- At the end, I get the most "Fame" points, and "R$ Earnings" if the Manager is available, from all the races available in the game

Also, a trick I've found when going too hot into a turn and you know you'll end up crashing or going off track
- This usually works when you are coming from a long straight and have time to maneuver
- Steer left and right without loosing control prior to the turn
- This maneuver will slow you down faster than going into the turn on a straight path

Common sense tips/tricks:
- Use a new cell phone of fast processing device (I think you can play it on your computer as well)
- Don't play "online multiplayers" with a bad connection or you'll learn to hate the game
-- I have played "online multiplayers" with a maxed out car with a bad connection which results on other cars passing me

Is used it to learn the layout of Spa Francorchamps in Belgium before I drove my own car there. Was surprised how much that experience carried over to real life and allowed me to start pushing from lap 3 or so.

I can vouch for the realism on Laguna Seca. I did a parade lap at a decent pace with my GSXR1000 and all the turn, blind spots, and change in elevation, specially that pesky "Corkscrew", are very realistic.

Yes.

What's costly is purchasing and upgrading your cars, whether is real money or collecting the game's gold/virtual money which you earn by playing the game and winning races.

I also played it too! Back when I used to have an iPhone, I would jailbreak it and I would install some In App Purchase tweak off Cydia. Used to get it all the cars I wanted.

Eventually having to deal with having a jailbroken phone got annoying - you would have to renew the software every so often and you would have to wait for a new jailbreak every time an IOS update rolled around.

I just downloaded RR3 two days ago, I cannot stop playing it lol! I figured it would be a nice break from SWGOH when it pisses me off and.... it's quickly taking over as my new favorite mobile game...
