Small update on the E24. The 2nd to last seat has been dyed.

The last seat is at the upholstery shop getting a seam fixed, I am hoping to have the e24 back on the road next week.

Solid work sir!!

I toiled away for 6 years on an '87 635, got engine very well sorted but interior was nowhere near this quality, so I appreciate the care you're putting in here.

Was cleaning out my garage last weekend and found these. I believe they are dome lights, and the bulbs are brand new. If you need them I'll hand them over for just the price of shipping.

Good luck!

-Pete

Ill have to check mine, but think they are good. Thank you though.

Another update.

The steering wheel was rough.

Glued in a piece of leather into the hole.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

We found a process online using a gel superglue to fill in the bad spots and then sanding it smooth.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Dyed and ready to install. Its not perfect but is much better than it was, and it will work until I put a Nardi in it.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

We also finished up the dying the seats and installed them. Its almost ready to drive.

It just needs some mats and it will be good to go.

Any thoughts on doing an European bumper surgery? Is that a big job (I have no idea)?

Thank you!!

No major updates, but I have put some miles on it. I drove it to work a few times and took it to cars and coffee.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Picked up some correct floor mats, since the ones from my wagon didn't work.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I have decided that we are taking this to the vintage this year in May, so we are going to change out the fuel pump and filter. We also have some brake lines coming as well, and the brakes will be bled before the trip.

Just stumbled on this thread...fantastic! If I had more garage space I'd love to add an E24. Very impressive that you are doing all of the work yourself.

Small update.

The e24 had a slight pull to the left under moderate braking, so while inspecting the brakes we noticed the rears were pretty worn.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Hard to really see, but the parking brake was replaced as well.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

All the soft lines were kinda brittle so those were replaced.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Fresh stoppers..

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Its stopping much better and doesn't pull. I think its ready for The Vintage.

Found a set of 16" Style 29s for it cheap on facebook. One needs a little touching up, they need new tires, roundels, spacers, and a good cleaning.... And I have just about a week to do all that before the vintage.

Not exactly what I was looking for but I feel like they kinda fit the look of the car.

Got out for a quick photoshoot with the new wheels. I wanted something else but honestly, I think these really work on the car.

I think its ready for The Vintage this weekend. I just need to pack it, check the torque on the lugs, give it a quick clean and recharge the AC. This will be my first vintage in something decently comfortable, not sure if I am disappointed or excited about that.

Classic car and classic wheels, I'd certainly agree they work together.

Thanks for sharing these mini restorations, so much fun to see.

agree with tracer bullet those wheels look great! they're a nice nod to the basket weaves of that era while being just different enough to make it unique.

well done! can't wait to see the pics from vintage weekend!

I haven't really done too much to the car since the vintage so I decided to drive it last week. While I was driving it home from work on of those days, the AC blower motor failed. So back to the shop.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Pulled the fan and motor.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

The motor was just tired so we have another one on the way.

Untitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

More updates soon.
