How soon to wax?

Could not find a thread....

2023 X5 eDrive delivered in November 2022. Only ~1k miles (been garaged much of the time) - Mineral White metallic paint. Driven a few tmes in snow and rain.

Simply wonderig when safe to put on first coat of wax?

On other cars I just use a simple Griots spray on wax.

Thoughts?

Safe? I don't get the question. Why wouldn't be putting car wax on your X5 be safe at any point in time?

Been a while since I bought a new car and recall that the paint needed to cure... maybe its been too long

Guess I'll wax once it warms up...

Let’s address the elephant in the room: Why would anyone advertise that they had a 907?

🤣

I just spent a grand or more on belts and valve adjustments for my 749.

And I rarely ride the thing. I think my motorbike fetish has subsided over the years.

I need a bike with a more upright seating position. The 749 kills my neck!

I’m looking at hooligan bikes though.

A new car can be waxed as soon as it's pulled out of the assembly plant.
After the painting process, it is baked in an oven to cure the paint properly.

Should have done it on day one. Now you probably need to decontaminate and polish before the wax goes on

Garage List
Recommend to do a proper wash, chemical (iron remover - likely not needed but is quick to do) and mechanical decon (clay bar), light polish, then IPA wipe down, then do something like Adam's advanced graphene coating. Will last you 5+ years (they say 9) depending on your conditions.

When it comes to choosing a wax, Griot's spray-on wax is a good option for a quick and easy application. It's important to make sure the car is clean and free of any dirt or debris before applying wax to prevent scratches or swirl marks. Additionally, be sure to follow the instructions on the wax product carefully to ensure proper application and maximum protection for your vehicle's paint.
Is it 1974 again?
