Best way to deal with them is to ignore them. ( Ignore function) At the end of the day, they end-up mumbling to themselves when their toxic vitriol goes unanswered.
That's all good & cute, but does it explain why others instigate the toxic vitriol?
It ain't me, girl! You all go six to one on me!

PS: I was going to look up the psychology of groups that don't tolerate divergent viewpoints, but....
And I really don't mind if you ignore my posts; I ignore most of yours.
Oh yeah, at the end of the day I will probably be listening to music on the tube system, sipping an IPA, and not alone (mumbling to myself)!

That is one lovely shelf and collection!
I've tried Woodford in an old fashioned - wouldn't mind one now...

I got to try Jim Beam Black recently - made me think of Jack (which is fine with me - as I like John, er I mean Jack - 'scent of a woman' joke...)

Some nice choices there. Porbably prefer the Glenlivet over the bourbons but hey, bourbon is nice too. Got a bottle or two around here somewhere.

Now that I've had a few days to decompress.....

....I can talk a little bit about a shootout we were involved in on Thursday. In the process of serving a warrant with the District Attorney Police, two suspects barricaded in an apartment shot approximately 30 rounds of .223 through the front door of the apartment as verbal notice was made that we were there pursuant to the warrant. A shootout occurred that lasted hours. They shot through the front door, out windows, etc. Shots were fired back at them as well. Seventy pounds of methamphetamine, multiple illegal firearms and thousands of dollars were seized from the apartment. The incident began around 1730 hours and most of us didn't leave the scene until 2330 hours. The two suspects eventually surrendered (...basically because they ran out of ammunition). The scene was held by Homicide until 1400 hours Friday. It was one of those shifts where you really start to recognize your mortality and life flashes before your eyes. Thankfully neither me nor any of my partners were injured.

All the money they were making from the meth and they were too cheap to stock up on ammo?

Seriously though - glad no one was hit. I can't figure out what goes thru the mind of someone to try and shoot it out with the cops who are there in force. Does that ever end well for the perps or only in movies.

Only in the movies, although the Hollywood robbers really got the jump on law enforcement back in 1995.

Have a SWAT team or Tac team on site? A couple of well-placed shots from a DM could have saved everyone time and effort.

I remember that. Must have been a shock to responding officers to meet two guys in body armor with real fully automatic rifles. If memory serves most police then had 9mm or 38 revolvers and some had a 12 gauge in the car. 9mm was bouncing off their armor.

But - enough good guys there until a SWAT team arrived and some of them could upgrade weapons from a local gun store.

In the end - bad guys lost and died. And no RIP for them either. Pair of dirtbags.

Another reason the bad guys lost is because one of the SWAT guys laid on the ground and shot under a car to hit the bad guy in the feet/legs causing the bad guy to fall down. A few more rounds finished him off.

IIRC, that SWAT guy had recently come back from a shooting class that was teaching that new technique.

Remember... shoot the bits you can even if they are small bits.

He also had a rifle and could shoot.

Speaking of SWAT, years ago I had just bought a Steyr Aug, And I was at the range sorting it out. Up pulls Phoenix PD Swat team with - brand new Augs. I was really surprised they would use those but I was truly impressed watching them shoot. Normal built in optics which I think are 1.5 magnification and they were shooting impressive groups at 100 yards.

So I had to compete and pulled out my a AR15 with 24x scope and started shooting quarter size groups at 100. They liked it and asked if they could shoot it. Ruined it for me forever. These guys never MISS.

What I learned is - NEVER decide to shoot it out with the cops especially if SWAT is there. I am outclassed.

I'm no expert but why is that considered a new technique? That's exactly what I would do in that situation. We've all seen that technique in the movies and on TV as well.

Probably not "new," just the latest, coolest tactic.

TTPs come and go and circle around again. What is old is new, etc. Back then, shooting people in the legs from under cars was a hot topic for the police.

What are you doing with a routine-pulled over tourist w/o international drivers license? Has its own country related license but no international. Is that worth a punishment for the cops or do they more dont mind as long as you respect the street laws?

I haven't personally come across that in my area, but if I did I would simply educate, welcome them to the U.S. and send them on their way.
