Is this article correct about the Ring?

In this article is he describing Nürburgring or Spa

"Currently, the longest track is Germany’s Nürburgring, the legendary 13.1-mile circuit in Nürburg, near the Belgian border, which includes sections of public road and isn’t open for racing most of the year."

Does the Ring include public roads ?

Nürburgring IS a public (toll)road(that is a one way road). So yes, this article is true. And yes, its near the Belgium border. Spa is located IN Belgium.

Spa is a only about 83kms away from the 'Ring.

Check out this thread of mine about traveling to the 'Ring for the very first time. There are lots of common mistakes not to make. Do a little research and you will be fine.

This guy is insane and insanely rich. It certainly is a Disneyland for adults.

To answer your question, the Nurburgring is a public road, not including the Gran-Prix circuit.

There is the Nurburgring F1 Circuit (not public road) and the Nordschleife (North Loop) which is a public toll road. When car people say 'Nurburgring', they normally refer to the Nordschleife.

Just that SECTIONS of public road and not open for racing most of the year had me wondering.

I though the RING was up for sale and owned by a private consortium.
