Finally got some pics to post. First.... they are the crappiest iPhone photos. When I get the car cleaned up and have a few details sorted I will have some good better ones taken. Further, please excuse the dirty garage.

The car came to me with 17,500 miles. As I said I plan on driving it and as you can see it has already passed 18,000.

The interior is in good shape, and the exterior is very good as well. I ordered new fog lights and headlights as both are a bit cloudy. Having the wheels restored. They are powder coated... should be painted and cleared.

Drives as new. Sorry for the delay in getting the pics up.

she's beautiful. i love the color. i always sort of feel sorry for people who are low mileage stewards of attainable sports cars. these are drivers... and they get limited driving pleasure from them. good for you on getting a fine example that you plan on driving.

Nice '95! Impressive that the basket handle 3rd brake light is still on there. I'd probably still kill it, but nice, clean car. For what it's worth, I prefer powdered coat to paint for wheels though.

I have talked to the old man who owned this car for the first 24 years of its life. He is 82 now, so he was 57 when he bought it. Can't tell you how many times he mentioned that he wished he drove it more than he did.

I can tell you this. If I had bought the same car new it wouldn't be in this perfect condition and it sure as hell wouldn't have 18,000 miles on it. Probably 250,000 miles lol. So happy he "saved" it for me.

Honestly I was happy when I heard they were powder coated, but they look a bit dull and it wasn't the best job as they are a little bit pitted.

The wheels in the restoration shop (Automobile associates in Canton, CT) look bright and pristine in the OEM silver and OEM clear coat. I'm going to let those guys have at it and swap the Yokohama tires out for the Michelin Pilot sport II's.

The basket handle doesn't bother me and I want to keep it as stock as possible. Low miles and all original protects the value. There are a lot of reasons getting a '95 was an advantage. I could go either way on the basket handle. I prefer the narrow body car to the "S". They say the narrow body cars are lighter and smoother. I can't say thats true, but this particular car is butter smooth driving and steers like nothing else I have ever driven.

This would be a nice weekend drive with your honey. Since I can't afford a Ferrari, a classic like this is the next best thing.

Plenty of Fezzas are cheaper than 993's. And Porsche prices are rising. Of course the Italian one requires a lot more expensive maintenance.

Any 308/328/348 is game, Mondials, just about any four seater older than the 612. Some 550/575's, most Testarossas, some 355's and 360's. That's just using the $75k-100k range of 993's.

I prefer the classic Porsche. A very good friend of mine from college just purchased a couple year old 458 spider. It's nice, sounds INCREDIBLE, is VERY fast. He paid $240,000. That's a LOT of money. Too much money. In 10 years my 993 will be worth 100K, and the 458 will be lucky to be worth 100K.

I think there is something very special about these older air cooled cars.

The 458 will be the last Ferrari to have NA engine. It's kind of like Porsche air cool engine. Regardless, for the same money, I wouldn't hesitate to get a 458.

I was 57 when I bought mine last year, it had 75000 miles on it and now is closing in on 78000. I have mixed feelings about racking up the miles but I love driving it and I suspect it will still hold its value even with the miles going on it. Beautiful car, I think they are just about the best looking Porsche but I am a bit biased.

If you plan on keeping it... drive it. I wasn't looking for a low mileage car in particular. Just so happened that's what I ended up with. I'm going to drive it as a pleasure car, not an daily driver. If I put 5k a year on it, so be it.

The key is keeping up with maintenance. If the car is in perfect working order and looks good, it will hold value within reason. I was sure I wanted to keep it stock. Now I want to do some basic 'reversible' mods. I think the key is being careful with how much money is spent. Wheels, tires, a ssk, an exhaust. Some paint touch ups. Some gaskets. It adds up lol.

But I really enjoy having my car. In the end, that's what matters.

Drive it in good health my friend

My car has a few mods that it came with, Fister exhaust (has to be the best name for an exhaust system), really throaty no drone, it has the high performance air box and an Alpine stereo which will be replaced with a Porsche Classic system or an original Becker. I'd like to get new wheels at some point but that's all as I like the originality of the car. I lucked out as I live about an hour from the nearest dealer and in an area that doesn't seem to have a lot of older european cars but there's a guy literally 5 miles from me that is from europe, he trained as a Porsche mechanic and then moved to Canada to be the mechanic for Porsche racing in the Can Am series I believe. They guy is a genius and all he works on is Porsche. Enjoy your bug, they are a great car.
