Miles to Oil Change not counting down?
Recently had the 1 year (9k miles) oil service on the d. When I drove the car out it indicated 13,000 miles till oil service was required (as expected). I've driven over 800 miles since and it still says 13,000 miles.
Anyone have experience with this, is it normal, does it drop 1000 miles at a time or something? On our E46 it would drop in 25 mile increments. Only had the car 2 months, was purchased used (service loaner) so have no experience. It was counting down for oil service until it expired by time at which time it no longer displayed a miles to go (was 4100 miles just before the time limit was reached). Thanks! |

I believe it counts down every 1000 miles/km. At least it does for me.

Thanks for the info. Very different than the E46 that counted down in 25 mile increments. Was planning on pulling a sample at 6500 miles on the oil and seeing how it is doing. I never went the 16K on the gas engines, changed at halfway (8K). Not sure yet if I will do the same thing with the Diesel (change halfway).
