Even though I never run at anything below 1280x800, I think you will need to maintain site usability for those at 1024. 1024 is pretty much the most common resolution in use.

Thanks for your continued work on improving the site.

Shouldn't the question be: how big is your browser window?

I run at 1600x1200 (desktop) and 1024x768 (laptop), but my browser window is only about 700 pixels wide. The web isn't everything, I wanna be able to see other windows too.

You should be designing the pages to adapt to whatever (within reason) the size of the user's browser window, this isn't hard to do.

I agree. I've got a big screen but I usually have several windows open at once so I can multitask. Also, sometimes I work on a notebook and sometimes a desktop system. It would be better if the windows didn't get too large.

I am stuck with modem access at home. So small files are great there -- but the high quality stuff is great at the office.

This is all good and true. A lot of Windows users are used to having all their windows maximized when working with them but that is quite uncommon for Mac users. We like to multitask because our computers don't crash when we do. *ducks* I'm kidding, please let's not start a flame on this topic here.

The habits of window use are true for the respective platforms I mentioned above however. I imagine my browser window is usually about 1000 pixels wide on a 1280 screen.

At work; 1920x1200. At home; 1600x1200. But, like Armen52, I'm also on a mac, so I'm not using 100% screen real estate.
