Question CIC not working

Hello,

I'm clueless, and I need help with a malfunctioning CIC. A month ago I bought a carplay (roadtop) for the CIC in my E60. After installation everything worked as it should, for about two weeks. Then one day when I started it up, the screen stayed red for a few minutes. Then without any intervention the screen stopped displaying, no sound playing and no sos, PDC, etc working.

I removed the Carplay, but the error persists. I've checked all the fuses related to the CIC (in the trunk, in the glovebox, and on the CIC itself), I've tried replacing the CIC with a unit from a working car, all to no success.

The only other thing I can think of is the optical connection, the CIC flashes and even when I pull the optic out of the unit in the trunk I can see the light. But if the fiber optic to the CIC was broken, would the screen work, or am I wrong? Or the screen can be broken, but still the audio and all the units should work properly. Any ideas?

It is a 2009 BMW e60 with CIC, larger screen and profi navigation.
