Ahh New Mattress

Do you like your mattress? We received our Cali King Saatva Luxury Firm 14" today… after dealing with 2 yrs on a Westin Heavenly we paid $2k for 2 yrs ago from Pottery Barn…

Looking forward to a good nights sleep again.

Side sleeper 6'2 195 lbs broad shoulders - tough to find the right fit but I think we have!

A friend of mine who owns a B&B in SoCal said their guests often remark how they get the best nights sleep ever on these mattresses.

Follow up in 1 week.

We're in that trap. We paid a bundle (but not enough, IMO) for our existing box spring/mattress and Wifey hasn't been happy with it since Day One. I told her at the time that you get what you pay for and that we should be looking at higher end stuff, but she didn't want to spend the extra for the high end. Now we're stuck with a mattress we spent too much on to throw out so soon but not enough on to ensure comfort.

Last week, we just replaced our 6 year old Temperpedic memory foam with a Temperpedic Hybird for $6k. So far so good.

We have a Leaf & Loom (sister company to Saatva) for ~7-8 years. When the time comes (sooner than later now), we will strongly consider them again. No complaints, but may just want something different.

Bought a Saatva Zenhaven latex and it's best bed I've ever slept on. This is my second latex bed, had a cheaper Dreamfoam 10+ years ago and have tried cooling memory foams and mem hybrids only to go back to latex.

I'm 6'3 260lb and a side sleeper so it's hard to find something that works.

We've had a Sleep Number with dual controls for over 20 years and we love it.

I bought a Tempur hybrid a long time ago when I had a full bed and LOVED it. I bought a house and a king size bed. My other half at the time complained about spending so much money. I don't know why I didn't fight him on it. I loved that mattress....

Just received my queen mattress from Avocado Green Mattress. It's the mid tier they offer. Opted to get the optional pillow top. Slept on it for the first time last night. We'll see. Company says I have a year to try out the mattress or I can get a full refund with no restock or pickup fees.

If you opt to get this mattress, be aware that this thing is heavy. FedEx said the shipping weight was about 150 lbs.

It only lasted 6 months?

I got a temperpedic cloud with adjustable base last Black Friday. One of the better purchases I've ever made. It gave me back pain for 2-3 weeks until my body adjusted and now I love it.

We're on our 2nd tempur-pedic and never again. We had the 1st one for well over 15 years and liked the comfort but not the heating. We bought the 2nd about 5 years ago. This time we went with the "cooling" version. What a scam! It doesn't provide any "cooling" at all and holds heat just like the old one. I sleep hot and this is quite uncomfortable. Even my wife who sleeps cold complains about the heat. We're slowly looking for a suitable replacement.

The purple mattress intrigues me...

hahaha no - I said I was interested maybe in sales again one day.

The mattress issue has been long and arduous. We had a purple my wife didnt like (i liked it), we had a Helix I didn't like (it was customizable for per side), we bought the Heavenly which was just not comfortable at all... VERY heavy though.

I actually found Saatva on my own, then posted on facebook and got several responses but mainly my friend who I used to actually work in sales with (commercial real estate), he owns an office in Orange County btw, he also owns a B&B in SoCal. Anyway, he says his guests tell him - they had the best nights sleep of their lives and what mattress co they use, and so that's when I ordered the Saatva.

Anyway, I looked at the latex as well, considered it, but the customer service rep actually steered me toward the Lux Firm.

Anyway, will report back in a week. I have zero affiliation whatsoever with mattresses. Hell I wish I did, that way I wouldn't have to shell out the $. I will post the receipt:

We have 1 year to decide as well - that's part of what sold me. Lmk how you like yours.

I had a killer waterbed in college - it was a mattress that had 20 water tubes inside and a mattress shell zipped around them - it was perfect.

I slept on waterbeds for years. I'd do it now if not for Wifey nixing it. She hates the idea of a heated bed.

What happens to the returned mattress? Scary to think of the possibilities.

Use a mattress protector, guys. Supposedly all those nasty dead cells, dustmites, etc, adds wt to the mattress in addition to being a sanitary nightmare.

Same problem here. Had a waterbed for over 45-years and have slept on one with my now wife for at least 43 of those. When we moved into the new house she said "no waterbed" and allowed that she'd never liked it! Bought a Nectar for us and one for my daughter for the new house and after three-years everyone is very happy with them. I actually praise it very highly. Haven't ever had a bad night's sleep on it and it, too, came with a no-questions-asked 365-day guaranty.

Avocado Green Mattress states that they will donate returned mattresses to a vetted charity. What rehab'ing they do, I don't know before donation. They do spell out that none of the returned mattresses are resold. They also require pictures of the mattress during the RMA process so they can ensure the mattress is in somewhat decent shape.

They also recommend a mattress cover. I've already been using one.

We spent a fortune on PranaSleep latex mattress with adjustable base and it was worth every penny.
