Hello


I have 2014 BMX 428ix and I have below issue

1. Issue
- Knocking noise when turn in low speed(under 5km/h) or stop

- Heavy steering feeling (No EPS light or error code yet)
- This car had left front side accident before

2. Recently repaired (Done by Indy shop)
- Right and Left Strut (M Adaptive shock)
- Left tie load
- Left control arm
- Left and Right lower arm
- Left Knuckle
- Left shock mount
- 4 Wheels alignment (Fromt camber was different. Left : -0.55, Right : -1.14)
- Release the preload adjustment bolt in steering gear (Now this makes the car with dead center..)

The reason I replace above parts to solve the noise and heavy steering but nothing solved
Now mechanics said that steering rack is probably damaged.
Do you think it's really steering rack problem?
I want to decide to change it after I get the opinion from all of you.

So to my knowledge the "knocking" is just a "f32 thing." I know it sounds kind of bogus but yeah, someone else on this forum had the same issue, so do I. According to my carfax, my car hasn't been in an accident, so I doubt that that is a factor as well as you changing all your parts. As far as the heavy steering, is it heavy in comfort mode? because it is supposed to get heavier in sport. If not, I would have a shop look at your power steering

It's little hilarious you said "knocking" is "F32 thing" XD
Now what I'm thinking for the last solution is replacing with steering rack repair kit(Preload bushing and bolt)
If there is still knocking after replacement, I'll just give up for fixing it.
And yes, it's also heavy in comfort mode but I can definitely feel the difference between comfort and sport (I have VSS option)
Another reason feeling of heavy steering maybe that current car is my 1st BMW in my life..
