Anyone else have an insurance policy on their watches?

So I have an issuance policy on 1979 Rolex Day-Date (gold) and it's costing quiet a bit of money every month.
And now I want to add my Omega Speedmaster Alaska Project to it but because the Omega AD appraised it at $10,000 I know it would cost a good amount every month to insure.
Do people not usually insure their nicer watches or if you do what insure do you use because I want to try to find a lower rate.

No you cant. They hardly ever go up for sale and when they do they sell same day. And the Omega AD looked at some dealer only auction website for watches and showed me that they now sell for 7k on there

Ya their are 4 for sale. You just proved my point. Anyway, you're just gonna be a pain in the ass gtfo. I asked a question about watch insurence, not what watches are for sale.

You're not alone..My cousin had rolex's from 5k to 20k. He insured every rolex he has.. He has some off ones as well he insures. He says its costly but its well worth it if something were to happen to it.

I have USAA insurance on my Rolex Expy II and my Omega Speedy Pro. I dont remember what I pay but its pretty insignificant for a peace of mind. Maybe $100 a year? I could be way off but I know its not much. I could check for you if interested. both watches are insured for replacement market value (about $2500 on the Omega and $4000 on the Rolex). it covers loss, theft, damage, whatever.

Added mine to my home contents insurance and covers me if I'm wearing them at home or abroad too for an extra £55 per year,

That's 2 watches with agreed replacement values, as they are no longer made and new for old on 2 current watches.

I have cover for any named item of jewellery or watches up to £2.5k each up to total value of £20k within the main policy too

Need to supply annual insurance valuations from the AD, but I spend enough, they revalue mine each year for free.

Sounds like finally something that cheaper in the UK

Tried to but it's expensive.

Instead I've beefed up the security at home with monitored alarms and accredited safe screwed to the floor.

When Im out, the watch never leaves my wrist. If I was in the US, I'd probably do fire arms training as well ... But that's probably OCD.

Ditto, I have a USAA Personal Article Floater policy that insures my 3 Omegas and Raymond Weil as all my wife's jewelry. It's worth the piece of mind!

Insurance is one of those things you hate paying but when you need it you're glad you did.

Just have some of them listed on my home owner's policy. The additional annual cost is inconsequential.

All the best.

Definitely worth insuring. I have my Panerai 321 and Bucherer Patravi Chronodate under my homeowner policy. Full replacement value no matter what

but I think I have $30k in jewelry coverage along with home/car insurance and I think it costs like another $200/year. Its not really changing my life for the $16/mo it costs to cover it.

I just roll it into home policy and I asked for a higher replacement total but didn't really cost me much more yearly. I have 8 watches and I highly recommend it.

Yeah, that's not quite true. Go ahead and order or try to buy one of those watches in your little link you posted, after they accept payment you will get a message or response from the seller that it is back ordered or waiting to ship....it will never come. It's the internet, world wide web-of-lies.
This watch has been sold out for a very long time. It's a scam.
How do I know, because it happened to me with another limited edition Speedy.
I tried buying a Soyuz LE Meteorite Dial Speedy and found similar listings and got caught up trying to get my deposit refunded, real PIA.

OP, go the USAA route. I use them on my watches but it will be a separate rider for "high value jewellery". This is separate from the home owners/renters coverage and it will be a significant premium but it's full coverage for any situation. The policies that state that you're covered under your home owners/renters coverage usually won't cover everything and usually have a limit preset based on the amount of coverage you have, $300k home owners = $15k jewellery coverage, something like that.

The separate insurance coverage will cover theft and damage inside or outside the house as well as traveling abroad, that is what you want. They will cover the complete replacement value of the watch, which you should have appraised and form submitted, even if they say they don't need it. USAA required an appraisal and I feel more confident knowing they accepted a formal document with the watch's value.

Jewellers Mutual is the same and is a very popular coverage, but I stuck with USAA as I have many other accounts with them.
