Picked up a new watch!

So last week I went to Vegas for the first time and as I was walking around the Forum Shops in Caesars I happen to stop in Tourneau. After just browsing through I happen to come across this watch that caught my eye.

Oris Air Racing Edition III

I didn't know it was part of some limited edition run and neither did the employee helping me out (until she looked it up). I was just in the market for a black non-chrono watch and when I saw this I knew it was the one. I think I may change the strap though because it feels way too stiff.

Great pickup. Oris is pretty good value for the price. Enjoy.

Nice pick up.

My first watch was an Oris TT1 chrono 9 years ago. One of my favorites and still gets plenty of wrist time.

The canvas will wear a little as it rubs on your wrist during use, it should soften up considerably. That said, if you're "unsure" of the band then change it. I'm a huge believer that when "you don't know about something" you really "know you're not that into it/her/him."

You mentioned the strap in two separate posts already so its definitely on your mind! If you want to change it change it up.

I think that watch would look fantastic with a black stainless steal or a black ceramic strap, but I'm partial to non fabrics as I damn near never take my watch off.

No two ways about it. Knowing what one wants before one starts looking around is by far the best way to go. I know if I walked into a jeweler knowing only that I wanted "something, most likely a watch," I could as well walk out with a bracelet, ring, a gift for my lady, or a watch. LOL

Nice watch. Enjoy.

All the best.

Ya its black canvas.

I'll try breaking it in more to see if that softens it up. As far as looks go the strap is fine, its just super stiff.

Love the watch! Not a fan of the canvas myself but that is just my opinion. A quality rubber strap would be my choice... But enjoy the watch!

No one really gets a wrist watch for its "accuracy." They're all sufficiently accurate for 99.9999% of the population.

There's also a trade off between price and accuracy. The more expensive the watch, the less accurate it is (generally and only insomuch as Quartz watches are almost invariably the most accurate and the least expensive options and increasingly expensive watches tend to be automatic).

Its cool, i understand that. Hence i stopped wearing my auto. Sucker for accuracy, few secs off irritates me. My new swiss quartz seems ok.

Very nice. I've been seeing ad's for one of their altimeter pieces lately and I was immediately drawn to it. Very good chance I get something from them next.
