The Zombie Apocalypse Thread
We keep being threatened with Global Warming or Climate Change ending the world but I think it more likely that a Zombie Apocalypse or similar will be the end. If you live in a city you are only 7 days from complete anarchy in most cases. Rural denizens will last a bit longer.
Here are the rules. Tell what you would add to our Bimmerpost ZA Kit and why WITH PICTURES. You need to be able to keep your family safe and alive. I'll start: Transportation. Ford Excursion Diesel. Maximum utility, range, flexibility, and toughness.

I'd just stay home no way can carry the entire arsenal and ammo or rest of gear. Make a gun turret on top of house play American sniper. I'm hoping for dumb slow zombies not world war z fast mover or I am legend shit.

I would cover my head and spinal area with a helmet and body armor. Then I'd cover my arms, hands and upper body with barbed wire, spikes and razor sharp blades.
Once I'm turned I will be the biggest pain in the ass zombie on the planet |

I haven't watched since last season but I can tell you everything you need to know. Terrible writing, terrible direction, awful acting and writers doing everything they can to keep something going that should have died 3 years ago.

Those aren't zombies behind her. At least not "Original recipe" People put on masks made out of zombie skin. Similar to covering one's self in zombie blood a la Fear TWDead

My vehicle choice is easy. Our Nissan Leaf will be worthless after 80 miles. My M2 will be worthless if the road gets rough. Thankfully I have one of these being outfitted now and will take delivery in May: Would throw the monkey in the back as insurance in case the roads become impassible as it's good for 160 MPG, can do some light offroading, and is faster than a zombie. We keep enough supplies in our earthquake preparedness kit to be able to bail fast and live easy for a week or so. Would get as far out of the city as fast as possible. In laws have property on an island 1.5 hours from Seattle. They have fuel, generators, guns, ammo, and a lot of food. Could hole up there till we figure sh*t out. Ultimately though you either have to go up or into the water. Long term I'd look to a small island in the middle of a lake. I think we all know from The Walking Dead that the zombie problem can be solved pretty easily. It's the people problem that comes later that becomes the real threat. |

You need to find a group of people you can trust and quickly expand that group. I'd go around asking three questions:
1. How many bmw's have you bought? 2. How many bmw's have you sold? 3. Why? |

I always seem to have my eyes open, in differing weather (such as it is in Cali) for where I will build my defense. I've seen a few drainage ditches running under the freeway that don't seem to get much rain runoff in them. Have not yet gone down into the maw to see if the other side is open or not, as an escape hatch if the frontal attack overwhelms. Concrete canal seems easily defendable, and the chickens can get some air/bugs.
I'd have to do things fast and get the family set up to run on their own. Without insulin, I'm not going to be around after about 45-60 days. |
