Any Durango owners put LEDs in tails?

Want to put white LEDs in my tails.. And it's got a weird wire setup. One wire harness plugs into the housing. And the bulbs have special caps with no wires coming off. But a metal ring near the gasket that gets power drawn through an internal circuit path.

I think I know how to wire in the resistors but just checking if anyone has done this before.
