Oil extractor for N63 oil changes?

Hi,

Has anyone used an oil extractor on the X5? was excited to try out my new toy but can't find a place to put the tube in to reach the oil pan.

thanks

Unless I'm mistaken, the Diesels are the only engines with a dipstick.

There is no dipstick.unofrtunatleu gotta do it old school. Sucks. I use my mityvac on my wife's Honda and change oil in 20 min. But the x5 (12 yes newer) takes me almost 45-60 depending on what else I decide to do at the same time while it's draining.

ugh was afraid that was the case.

was hoping for a much cleaner method to change the oil but I guess I have to keep lots of cardboard around.

thanks for feedback

Honestly the only car I've had where it was super useful was my C55. The dipstick and the oil filter were both on top of the engine which made for super simple and clean oil changes.

Doesn't the v8 have the filter underneath? So you still need to get under.

It does.. also I just changed my oil yesterday and didn't spill a drop. The trick is to lift the drain pan up while you take out the plug. Once it starts flowing you can set it down and none will be spilled.
