PVP in EQ is non-existent. It's a PVE game with PVP as an afterthought.

Tell that to the Vz and Tz crowd. I never role played in EQ once, and never knew anyone that RPd. I was a hardcore raider and that was all. There was no room for RPing and grinding was a way of life. PVP was an afterthought.

Some PVE can be cool but doing it over and over for epics is redundant and boring.

Although I can say beating Nefarion was one of the most fun PVE bosses ever. Clearing the trash sucked though.

yeah. that's all i hear at work. 8 hours of WoW talk. seriously.

i started while i've been in. too many kids coming nowadays, that's all they have, only now they have a job to support it as opposed to mom and dad.

what server are you on? when i played i was on ner zuhl (don't know where the ' goes)

used to be on tichondrius. i quit when i was 60. the game got really depressing when i do type in /played. but now, i'm sure my time played was nothing compared to others. wow talk can get annoying but i have to admit i used to wow talk with my friends before everyone else quit. i'm surprised so many people still play wow... it's such an old game now, thought it would lose popularity by now. isn't there something newer people are playing or is wow still top mmo?

WOW is still the top MMO but it has been losing steam. At it's peak I think there were over 10 million subscribers. It lost at least a few million from that but with the new expansion, I am sure there will be more people signing up again (and former people who were bored of the existing game).

Blizzard is a juggernaut and is still king though (see SC2 and Diablo is coming out soon).

yeah, blizzard and it's games aren't going anywhere anytime soon...

i personally think diablo 3 is going to take a ton of WoW players away...which is why they are probably so hesitant on releasing it any time soon.

sc2 is just overrated garbage. don't get me wrong it's a solid game for sure, but there is just too much hype the game frankly does not deserve.

This. That was the best thing about EQ, you really had to invest a hell of a lot of time into it to be good, memorize the maps and quests. I still remember running around Freeport trying to sell stuff only by yelling, haha.
