My Girlfriend is breaking up with me in a few hours.

Saw the other post and figured I'd post my story too. Things were going pretty well for the past 4 months we've been dating. Some rocky times too though and I had some doubts but was willing to keep going and seeing if we could overcome them. Recently, we've been doing well up until this text exchange a few minutes ago...

Her : Do you have anything planned after dinner?
Me: Nope
Me: You have something in mind?
Her: Actually, can we skip dinner if you don't mind? I think I need to talk to you
Me: Sounds serious. Good or bad?
Her: I don't want to talk about it over txts.
Me: Where would you like to talk?
Her: Somewhere quiet and private.

I know people are pretty rambunctious in here but I'm kind of heartbroken, so I'm hoping for some compassionate advice and not any slams or jokes...

How old are you? You'll be over it soon, but she won't be. Make sure to get back in the game quick and don't cry over memories and shit. The best thing you can do from here is act unfazed and get another girl quick. Avoid sad movies, songs and other shit.

I was thinking of wearing my heart on my sleeve and telling her how heartbroken I am but maybe you're right. Maybe it's better to be a bit callous.

I do want her to look back on this situation and regret this though, and I think being cold will make her think back to herself "hmm it was a good decision to dump him" whereas being more straightforward would probably make her think "hmm, he was a good guy, maybe I shouldn't have done that."

Or maybe the reaction should be somewhere in the middle between those two things.

Why would you give her the satisfaction? Letting her know how much she hurt you only gives her more power over you.
