5. I don't know how much more of this Charles is going to handle. I think he was teary eyed during his post race interview. I don't think Ferrari's hopes are done for but they're off to a tough start.

7. I think Logan had an EXCELLENT showing and I'm expecting to see great things from him.
8. Ocon is still dumb but decent race from Gasly although he was fighting cars clearly out of position
9. I'm really hoping Lawrence will let Alonso flourish and allow his son to learn from a champion to improve himself instead of prioritizing Lance
As Fred is now puzzled at Ferrari melt down also then indeed Mattia was a knee jerk reaction by Ferrari if it will continue like this.

Ferrari obviously needs to work out their reliability issues - but strategy killed them last year just as much if not more.

AM will struggle in Jeddah - their car does not excel in straight line pace. But, the tire situation will be critical for them - they are looking like they can do 4-5 extra laps on tires with no degradation penalty. That could be critical and I predict we'll see a lot of late race position jumps due to this.

I do not think anyone can opine on Fred Vasseur's job performance right now. It's only one race and he inherited a jacked up team. If you recall last year their problems were around strategy, pitstops, reliability, etc.

There were no strategy errors or pitstop issues. Reliability will not have changed on actual hardware production and technical requirements for another few months IMO.

Great post my friend !

1. As I said : This is only the beginning .
2. Horner said : It's great to see 3 Red Bull cars at the podium.
(The 2023 Aston is a copy&paste from the 2022 RB18) aka a copy-cat .
3. Hopefully !
4. I really miss the Mercedes preachers.Mercedes needs a black RB19 .
5. Typical for the Italian team.
6. Mattia wasn't an Italian clown. This guy developed the cheating Ferrari Strawberry Power.
7. God Bless America !
8. Ocon is still a piece of 5H1T his karma is purely evil .
9. ALO can do this easily . His warrior B@lls are Spanish .

Oh I wasn't pointing fingers at Fred.

I think the root of Ferrari's problems are deeper than team principal and I don't think Fred or Mattia can be successful without a complete restructure/reorganization of the finer details of the team outside of engineering.

Max won 15 out of the last 20 races. (75%)

Not even Lewis has ever achieved this over a 20 race stretch in the previous era.

Thinking about RBR winning it all this year, this is telling:
"When Leclerc retired his Ferrari from the race with an engine issue on lap 40, he was 24 seconds adrift of Verstappen, representing a Red Bull advantage over Ferrari of 0.6s per lap. That was double the gap between the two cars on a single lap in qualifying."
"Verstappen's 38-second advantage over Alonso in third place underlined the performance of this year's Red Bull RB19, but arguably isn't that surprising. Such a gap between Red Bull and the front of F1's midfield pack over a race distance was not uncommon last year -- the big difference in Bahrain was that there weren't any Ferrari or Mercedes cars filling it."

I haven’t read this thread, but would like to know if our friend MKSixer still attributes all or most of the winning to the driver rather than the car. It’s one thing getting destroyed by RB hut when AM is beating you…7 WDC means NOTHING. You can just say 7 > 6 > 5 and on that basis alone say that Ham is the GOAT, and I suppose I can live with that. Our friend MK doesn’t use that argument though.

I still say no way of determining who is the GOAT, because the car you get mostly determines how you do. Sorry MK.

It’s almost a fools argument where there is no real answer. Who’s better: Jordan or LeBron? Montana or Brady? Messi/Ronaldo or Pele? Etc.

Each of these athletes all excelled in different eras of their sport, you’ll never get a true apples/apples comparison or where circumstances are all the same to make any meaningful conclusion.

The GOAT is who you think it is and that will differ from the next person.

Right. Have to say though, Ham is a weak pussy just like LeBron is, unlike Jordan and Senna, who just went out there and did it. I’m pretty sure Ham’s performance coach puts on his panties for him. GOATs are focused on one thing. Winning. Max exhibits that similar mindset.
