I just had to share this - Kijiji ad
So I've been buying and selling stuff on kijiji for ages.
It can get pretty frustrating when you put every conceivable bit of info and still get stupid questions. for example I had a set of weathertech mats for my old caravan, advert had pics and specifically said, "will only fit 2004-2007 readvertised and price lowered due to time wasters, $40, no offers, no arguments" So I still had a glut of emails asking will it fit a 2017 and "what" was my final offer. I ignored thoes after the 5 of them, then I had people who where going to come, change there mind, then where coming and didnt come because I asked them DID they actually read the advert, because it wont fit a 2017. Sold them Friday to a nice guy, came down from Hamilton, cash at the door, hello, goodbye... done.... Next day took down the kijiji ad. Today I got an email, that "my brother will be in the area tomorrow, what time can I pick them up" Replied, "sorry they went Friday, I took the ad down yesterday" I didnt even need to reply. I got back an email which stated From: Mark "WHAT WAS WRITTEN" I told you I would take them. You made me jump through a hoop of reading comprehension, thanked me, that was a written contract. The Right thing to do was email me with the fact you had another interested part and that you were doubting my word. I would have emailed you the funds directly into your bank secured online banking via interac Email immediately. You should get the mats back and tell the person you made a mistake. Regards, Mark On Feb 11, 2018, at 8:32 AM, Adrian .kijiji.ca> wrote: Hello Mark, I'm afraid there gone now, I did remove the advert on friday/saturday Adrian From: Mark My brother will be in Mississauga between 3 and 4 pm Monday, can he meet you somewhere? Fcuk me all for a pair of 40 bucks worth of mats for a bloody 2006 Caravan. So mail got the "Marked as spam" Now I'm worried will the guy try and track me down, will he turn up at my house, my workplace, demanded compensation. Will he sue me ? Can he get the feds involved for fraud. I might have to go to the doc's and have him write me up for stress , some diazempam and 2 weeks of work... How do you ballers cope with this stuff on Ebay, amazon, craigslist etc. ??? Advise and suggestions for good anti-anxiety pills please !!!!!!!! Last edited by jaye944; 02-11-2018 at 05:05 PM.. |

I personally enjoy making dating profiles on craigslist for these email addresses. Whether or not it works, it still makes me feel better. I think there are some other dating sites that do not require email verification.

I had this same situation when I was giving a kitten away.
The woman lost her mind saying I was the cause of her very unhappy daughter. I told her she shouldn't be a shitty parent and promise things she cant deliver. That triggered her

Lol. It's funny to see the lack of business sense in so many people (not you, the buyer). You did the right thing. Except replying - I would have totally ignored the dude. Just ignore him. You'll be fine. |

This had me rolling. I've sold things on Craigslist, mainly car parts and household items. Most people are somewhat normal but it never fails there is always some crazy nut who makes a big deal. How do these people function in society? My favorite is "what is the lowest you will take?" I dunno, do I have to think for you because you aren't smart enough to make an offer yourself? Or the people who want to trade you two tampons and an old flip phone for whatever you are selling because "trust me, I know what it's worth bro".

LOLZ to all the replies, and yeah I'm not worried...
Although that's why I never give an address unless there actually on there way. Either way if he had turned up, I'd just sent my wife to the front door to talk to him... Ahhh the age of chivalry is not dead ! |

Actually another funny one,
Selling some tires for same said caravan, guy turned up, I was only asking $200 (for 4 good winters (name brand) with rims) Already said no haggling, he still tried. Then he said, "on my life, god's truth, I swear to God this is true" (which means its a lie) I had the money but had to stop for Gas, so I'm $20 short, I told him about the ATM at the top of the road, he wanted me to go with him I politely refused. He came back with the $200 |

^I love those types... :P
And the "what's your lowest price?" people as well. I always tell them a price $50 higher than the ad to see if they even read it. |
