Oh so many options at my current beyond cheap client:

Assign Laptops with 1 gb of memory to IT consultants, WTF can you do with that.

Still run Office 97, too cheap to deploy modern versions.

First thing Director asks when doing project can you find shareware to do that, really you want to run a 600Million/year business on share ware.

Do away with leased parking adjacent to manufacturing facility and tell you to park and walk from the shopping center 1/2 mile down the road, hell works for me as billable time starts when I drive by the plant now.

Remove half the light bulbs in the office, funny thing they did that in the shitter too until someone slipped and fell in a puddle. Those are now back on.

Recycle paper; nothing like ruining high speed printers running paper thru twice because you're too cheap to buy some.

Laying off second shift computer operator and trying to do backups with everybody on the system, that worked well did not get a full backup for 2 months and ended up buying software to automate which cost more than the operator did.

Refusing to upgrade the hardware and OS versions on production servers until IBM says it's not supported and any issues are T&M, or not buying licenses for software and telling you to lie if you need support calls both wrong in so many different ways.

Hell that's all I can come up with in the 20 months I've been on this gig. Funny thing is the CIO/CFO who this azz hat reports too laughs when you tell him these things and says what is he thinking he's spending his own money???

nawh I can agree with that..... why do you need disposable coffee cups? its not for clients, its for the staff who work there. Everyone should have a mug in their office if they drink coffee.... at least thats how the people in my offices feel. They dont want cups because clients will take. lol

yeah i was also going to mention it helps reduce the amount of trash. Plus, the worst thing is to deal with trash bags when people throw cups half full of god damn coffee in it as well. its just a living hell from the managers standpoint.

If I have to mute my phone, I have to pull the jack out of the headset.

Living hell for us guys that are collecting it. That office waste goes to recycling facilities that rate our loads. A bag full of perfectly good paper is completely ruined by coffee, drinks, etc. That's why when I am signing up new customers I always request they set up a separate garbage area for pantry waste. Oh yeah, and black bags for anything with food waste, clear for clean office materials.

Please do your part to help save the environment.... And increase our bank account..

Same here until recently. I finally got to move. The damn bathroom is like a giant echo chamber. I'd be talking to someone on the phone and *they* could hear the bathroom noises. Pretty embarrassing. Glad I'm finally out of earshot.
