Given this is in my dream vacation post, you may consider your new friend, fiveohwblow, to participate in said venture.

No, that would be considered a "Bachelor Party"
We'll allow it

If the yacht rental is not allowed, $69K + shipping should more than cover this weekend project:

https://www.hangar67.com/aircraft/1980-mig-21/9576

Does anyone with flying experience know if this would make a good first airplane for a student pilot with zero hours?????

It would be your first airplane, plus your first and last student pilot flight.

Sadly, it would not be my first airplane. The second part is 100% true, though.....

Hmmmmmmm...there are some real possibilities here.

We should have a meeting, hit the couch cushions and really make a push to get this baby.

I believe that India still has a bunch in service, so I'd start there looking for a test pilot and instructor.....

A friend has an old MiG, not sure what number...
He said anytime I want to go play, just pay for the gas.
It may surprise you to learn what it cost in fuel alone to fly one of those things.

I imagine it has to be similar to a high end speed boat
BTW my buddy is from Newtown PA, and we all raced BMX at Bensalem. You need there?

Not a surprise to me. An area businessman here owns (owned?) a 1st gen English jet. Any repairs at this point involve custom-manufactured parts. Anyway, he could only afford to fly it for about 20 minutes per year because of the fuel costs.....

I would spend it on a custom made, giant, ceremonial check saying that I just won $100k.

Mid-90s NSX or 993 generation 911S and invest what's left.
