Can you clarify? When I go to the iOS App Store I see a bmw connected classic that hasn’t been updated for two years. ‘Classic’ implies there’s a new version but it did not come up via search or even after looking at bmw developed apps. What am I missing?

Looks like it hasn't made it to the Canadian App Store yet. If you've downloaded a copy from the US iTunes Store today's updated was for adding Canada support.

It's in the App Store now. Just downloaded it and added my vehicle. Works! Now I can honk my horn from my phone.....

You need to register your car again and sign up for a new account on the connected site. I found a link on google. Worked like a charm. Setup in 5 minutes

Great. Is your car has 3d view features? If yes can you use Remote 3d view features in New BMW Connected app? This will work after enabling Remote 3d view in idrive settings related to data privacy under My Vehicle

Lots of us have 3d view of vehicle but still waiting for idrive software update required to enable this feature

Anyone who recently received in this software update, please provide your details and comments as lots of us are eagerly waiting for this software update.

Got the app installed and registered without any problems . Anyone know how to change details to metric? Fuel level is shown in gallons instead of Litre, and distance shown as mi vs kms.

You can force an update to your Connected Drive service by using the Update BMW Assist option in the iDrive menu. The Remote 3D view will appear under Data Privacy.

I haven't seen that option yet. Is that under Vehicle Settings > iDrive (doing this from memory)?

One trick I found was that I needed to logout of the app, and then login again. Everything then worked, and my vehicle was automatically added. Flashing lights worked for me.

One other question that may be related to this update. I've found that prior to making these changes, I was alerted that the map update was available. My iDrive prompted me to say, "I've got new data, wanna reboot?" - I reboot and it looks like I was still stuck on the 2017 map data. Will all this then enable my vehicle to accept the 2018 map data? I'm guessing so and will check tonight.

Newbie (sort of) here .. had my 2019 X3 now for a year and have all but given up on the APP and Remote Services. Multiple calls to the dealership and even had BMW Connected escalate an IT ticket. To date no answer. Basically the APP shows my vehicle and fuel and KMs driven. That's it. I cannot access any of the other functions using an iPhone. Ideas ???

Android app works well (2020 X3MC) including 3D remote. Other than that, not a lot you can do with this app. If I had a new G05, at least I could get remote start.

I just picked up my X4 and was able to connect to the Connected App (eventually). I had to reset my password though, for some strange reason.

I have the same question as above for Canada - how do switch from imperial to metric?

The "new" Android app in Canada indeed works fine, I've using it frequently but I still miss it not informing the doors status like the iOS app does.

You mean doors locked...true, it doesn't offer that but if you got the display key (came with my '20 x3MC), it shows all that extra info, but no remote start

Yeah, I'm referring to the open/closed status of doors and windows. I don't have the display key, so it's sad to see the feature available on the iOS app but not on Android. :|
