Obviously this started somewhere. How does one do this? Call news stations? Email? A particular department or contact?

Newswire-> press ->media->marketing-> advertising

when things like that break it is mainly someone in house blabs to someone who works at an endemic trade pub

Ie when we release big media/advertising and PR pushes my buddy at ad age or adweek just happens to take me for drinks ...and it gets "discussed"
