Power folding mirrors work just like regular mirrors. if you bump them you can feel them kind of "cam off" of something and the resistance goes way down. That is both ways. If you bump them "folded" then its kind of like a garage door release, if you power fold the mirrors it will "catch up" to the position of the mirror and grab it, then it can fold it back. If its flipped forward you have to flip it back until it cams back into the regular position.

I have garage often crammed full, Ive bumped my power mirrors a ton of times and it all still works.

At work, I try to park as far away from the cotton trees as I can. Sometimes, I'll even take two spots

Last week I took two spots and one of the techs. walk up to me and he's like, "who parked that BMW? Typical BMW owner". I didn't say anything

This is how you get dents on your door. My only question to a lady was, why would you park next to me when the parking lot is empty? No answer...

Bad pic, but you can see those dents...

Last summer I was sitting in my car eating a sub and this guy in a big four door pickup backs in next to me. He opens his door and it slams into my car. I open my door and get out and confront him. He completely denies it until I show him how his door fits perfectly into the ding he just made. I say I know shit happens, but my car has zero dings or scratches because I take care of my shit. He ultimately apologizes and I was able to get a PDR that day. The guy did venmo me that night, so you gotta give him vredit for that. But it should have never happened to begin with. Even when I drive our pos Chevy suv, I never park like a douche or ding another car. Although our suv looks like it's been used for BB target practice. I hate other drivers.

The odd occasion I have to use a multi storey car park I park next to concrete support, that way at least one side is protected.

Happens occasionally, and once I'm sure even on purpose. Had parked my E90 all alone and returned to a dirty lifted pickup right next to me. And they wonder why people dislike trucks.

Nope we're in FL because we have work going on at the house. We'll be back in Asheville in late August for my wife's birthday.

We are heading to Avalon in Delray Beach (in an Uber).

Congrats on the move!

in my experience, the people who do this to me are also the worst parkers i've ever seen in my life. Whenever I park way out in buttfuck nowhere, and I've come out to someone parked next to me, that person is without fail crooked to the point of being over the line.

Multiple times i'll get myself a corner spot and wedge my car against the "end" side leaving 3+ ft of room between myself and next the parking spot, and I'll come back to a car parked so close to where my passenger would need to wiggle in.

I do not understand the lack of braincells needed to not only fuck up something as simple as slowly maneuvering your car between 2 lines, but moreso for those people that check their shit parking job after the fact and think "nailed it" and leave it. It doesnt help that a lot of these people also kick open their doors like theyre auditioning for the role of Leonidus in 300. Jackasses without an ounce of spatial awareness whatsoever

Always thought it was some sort of tribal thing, strength in numbers. A car by itself attracts the assholes and the stupid.
To many people just don't care, it's a tool for getting from a to b.

Mirrors dangling off it, no grips, body panels all tore off. It was a total mess. He wedged me in so badly one time that the only way to get my bike out was to physically move his. I had to call a buddy who was still in the office to come down there and help me pick the thing up and move it. I briefly thought about carrying it down to the alley and throwing it in the dumpster, but decided to be the better guy that day.

The unfortunate thing about those spots was that most cars backed in next to it so in order to help their drivers avoid crawling all over my bike to get in and out, I chose to roll my bike all the way to the back of the spot, thus inviting scooter guy to come share with me.
Damn....I'd lose my F'n mind. At least mine was a one time deal and it appeared the loser didn't scratch my bike at all. The way he parked his bike there was literally no space for him to get off his bike. Not even sure how he climbed off his bike.

The way that busted up POS is parked in front of your bike, it would take every ounce of restraint for me to not knock it over to move my bike out.

I think i mentioned this here before but whatever. I don't spend wasteful money easily so agonised over a 997 for years, finally bite the bullet and long story short, take the family out to a local park for the kids. Shit-tons of spots, i park with legit 6 empty spots on each side, car sitting there all shiny and freshly cleaned an porschey and shit.

I am sitting in the park staring at the sky or whatever and i see the range rover pull in RIGHT beside. Then out. Then in. Then out. Then in. I've seen porn with less pulling in and out.

I get up and start walking over and the family climbs out of the box on wheels, seems like the oldest daughter may have been learning? It was fucking BRUTAL to watch, was seriously worried she was gonna ding it up. So I go inspect and the ENTIRE LEFT SIDE (the side near my car) of the rangey was scratched to shit, not deep, like it had side swiped a low hanging tree branch/leaves.

Why on god's green earth would you choose to park near the most expensive car in the lot, with empty spaces all around, if you're that much of a fuck up of a driver?

I think they deserve those stickers similar to the ones parking enforcement uses. The big yellow ones that stick to you window. Those are a bitch to get off and I think the point would clearly be made to never park like an asshole again

They must have told her it would take her a lot of hard working on the street to compensate if she scratched again that time. It could be how they taught responsibility (at your expense, which wasn't particularly responsible in fact).

From some of these observations, I'm starting to think that perhaps we're not the bad people for parking diagonally across three parking spaces.....
