I recently signed up for the rewards program at my local C-store to earn cents off per gallon. It's where I buy my gas and beer, bread, milk, eggs, beer....
Anyways I just filled up my truck for $3.25 a gallon. I almost feel human again. |

Had to go into town to get a new battery in my wife's computer....sat on a patio and had a couple of caesers then walked around snd enjoyed the Buskerfest. Got home, sat in the sun, a few cocktails and some great music. Time with my bride, a nice dinner on the deck enjoying the view of the lake, more good tunes and then a nice bourbon by the fire with my dog Woody.....life is good.

Spent 8 hours on the water with my son. We laughed, caught fish, got sunburned, got caught in a rainstorm, ate a good dinner, serendipitously ran into close family at said dinner.
After that, we boated back to the ramp, loaded up and came home. It was a good day. |

^Thats my plan for later today - my wife and boys are back from the 2nd part of our trip to Cali - I came home first - my life feels complete again and my heart is full again.

The bride and I drove the Bug up to a local winery, had some nice wines and a wood baked pizza on the lawn over looking the lake. Should've taken a pic of the pie and maybe the Bug but I did take one of my bride. The drive was excellent, Perth Road is 20 miles of very smooth winding road, great views on both sides of lakes and cottage country. Life is good.

...because the US Dollar and Euro are on parity again for the first time in ages! Great time for those of us on this side of the pond to own a German car or buy parts from Europe.....

I had my car serviced well and at a "reasonable" price.
 They had promised to rip me off by the phone, so I had to reduce the order to the minimum, excluding things I could do myself. On the spot it went much better though: it was an amazing unexpected discount fest so I could include everything needed and even proceed cynically to making some profit by having them replace my wiper blades as well (discounted it cost less than buying at full price from them and fitting myself). It was no trick: the initial cosmic prices were the current "regular"  , I had to switch from my previous service (that had asked even more) to this one because of that (both BMW official). And, of course, I watched them doing it: no paper buy for me!  |

Made it out of Tahoe down only about $2g after 3 days

The last of the nasty carpet is gone from our house. Should have removed it years ago. Now the only carpet in the house is in my office (still in good shape) and on the stairs.
