Bird's nest

We found a bird's nest with eggs in a hanging flower basket we hung under the eave of our house.

It's probably a finches nest.

It's been there for maybe two weeks, so we should have baby birds soon. If they hatch, I'll add a new picture.

OMG! They are absolutely precious! I just watched my first clutch of Bluebirds fledge. I should have more eggs in a couple of weeks. I am an avid Bluebird landlord and Rubythroated Hummingbird enthusiast.

Please post more pics as they mature.

When I was little, I grabbed the birds nest and threw them at somebody. Then few years later I found out that it was wrong, and from those eggs a little bird would have been born.

hey, speaking of birds, how funny I got some in my yard as well back in spring time. here she is keeping her only chick warm. Yeah I was afraid to get close fearing 1) she will go postal on me or 2) she will leave her chick (who will eventually die from starvation). So I kept my distance.

here are evidence that her chick hatched. Only 1 egg shell. Not sure what kind of bird this is. They have since moved on to bigger and better thing.
