08 535i sport 1/4 mile times

Got to the track Sunday. 69 degress, good track conditions.
Jb4 is the only mod I have, stock everything. 6speed auto w sport auto trans, rear tires 285 continental contact sport 3.. gas 94-95 octane (93 with 20% e70)

stock run
60' 2.02 8.93 80mph 13.83 100mph
map 1
60' 2.03 8.63 85mph 13.25 107mph
map 2
60' 2.03 8.32 88mph 12.84 110mph

Ive had this car 1 1/2 years and install jb4 the day I got it, never went to the track, but I knew the car was fast, I raced from a roll, a friend of mines e55 and pulled him a car length and kept all the way to 120 where he started to come back on me. To say the least I'm very impressed with the times, when I go back I'll have straight 100 oct and some drag radials, and try map 7

Impressive! I am awaiting a 535xi and was wondering what mods were available to make these faster.

Jb4 is all I have. Great bang for the buck, just order one!! I just dusted a 06 corvette (stock) on jb4 stage 2. I did get the jump on him, and he was coming back with revenge, but we stop at 120mph. So the moral of the story is If I beat a c6 vette in stock form, theirs not much else to worry about on the road unless you pull up beside my x5 m

impressive numbers but are you sure you're not exaggerating? I find it hard to believe you ran 110 mph in a 1/4 with just a jb4.

No exaggerating, and no mods. at all. and I feel you on that. but I was just as shocked as you are. this car as always pulled like crazy when it goes to 3rd gear and flashes the traction control light every time on map 2. Ill be going back this Sunday with straight 100oct and make all runs again and make a couple map 7 runs. If it pulls as hard as it did last time all the way thru, I'm sure I will have some 110 plus mph...Ill post time slips and pictures

How much horsepower did the tune give you?

Not sure, there are different maps on the jp4, map 2 i ran 12.8, which is 1.1 seconds fastest then stock. If I had to guess I would say 75hp, But their is a big increase in torque and the power curve which all helps in the 1.1 second jump in e.t. I didn't get to the track today with the 5, but did take my bone stock x5m, and ran a 7.97 and 12.45 on the first and only pass.

my wife still drives her 535xi, i used to have a 335i xdrive coupe and ran stage 2 cobb tune. my best time on 3 series was 12.1 at 115mph 1/4 mile on pump gas 0 to 60 was 3.8 sec.
the 5 series bone stock just added cobb tune 91 oct map and ran 0 to 60 in 4.4 sec and 1/4 mile 13 sec at around 106 mph. with stage 2 upgrade and map it should be a low 12 sec car. and e30 map might even take it to high 11s.
love the way e60 handles.
currently i drive a 650xi with jb plus tune but the n54 engine is the best so far in terms of tun-ability and engine response to tune.
highly rec to get alpina trans flash if possible it transforms your transmission shifting close to dct feel.

I notice some guys mix their gas with an ethanol blend to raise the octane. Are there any other advantages to mixing it. How much of a mixture will the fuel injection handle without further mods?

You can mix safely 25/30% e85 with 93 with no ethanol if you have a tune to take advantage of the octane

On our 535ix it has a JB4 set to Map 5 and DCI's. Compared to stock there is a very noticeable uptick in power. Our 335i Sport has a JB4, DCI, 12" FMIC and catless VRSF downpipes. That car is a beast. It would leave our 535i in the dust. However, they are two very different cars but both are fun in there own way.

Did you ever make it out to the track?

How many maps are included? I see many shops sell the JB4 do they all have the same tunes or do they make their own changes? Where did you get yours?

When you order the tunes do they specify the differences (and mod requirements) between the maps or is that something that you custom order for your preferences?

I havent made it back yet. Jb4 has 4 maps plus custom tuning, data logging, and more. The maps have octane minimums, so that will determine what map you can run, mods have factors to, but every car is different.
