"80 Exotics Including Ferrari LaFerrari And Jaguar XJ220 Destroyed In Arson Attack
Dec 18, 2020 by Martin Bigg Crash | here
We wouldn't like to guess the total value of the damages.
It's always distressing seeing expensive exotic supercars get reduced to scrap metal in an accident. Last month, a teenage YouTuber wrecked his father's one-off Pagani Huayra Roadster and a McLaren Speedtail met its maker in a crash at Fuji Speedway. This, however, was no accident.
In Over Peover village, Cheshire, UK, 80 cars were deliberately destroyed in an arson attack, including Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis. According to The Sun, the cars belonged to a wealthy classic car dealer and were stored in two outbuildings on a barn. One of the most valuable cars destroyed in the inferno was a rare Ferrari LaFerrari worth £1.2 million ($1.6 million).
Only 499 were built between 2013 and 2015, but there's now one less example in the world because there's no hope of salvaging it.
A Jaguar XJ220, one of only 281 in the world, was also burnt to a crisp - that's the second Jaguar XJ220 destroyed this month after the car driven by Top Gear's Freddie Flintoff was severely damaged in a crash. Another car destroyed in the blaze is believed to be worth £3 million ($4 million) and was being held as part of a finance scheme. We wouldn't like to guess the total value of the damages.
"The owner is absolutely devastated. Most of the motors were classics with some almost one of a kind," a source told The Sun. "Even if the insurance covers it, you can't compensate for the loss of motoring history in those two hangars." Photos show the burnt-out remains of dozens of exotics and classic cars.
Sadly, firefighters tackling the blaze were unable to save a single car from getting destroyed beyond recognition. Police are still investigating the incident, but let's hope they can track down whoever is responsible for this arson attack and bring them to justice. "A joint investigation by firefighters and police is continuing into the cause of the fire which is believed to have been started deliberately," Cheshire Constabulary said."

Strange that there was no sprinkler install in that shed if there were so many expensive cars in there (at least not that I can see from the pictures).

Just having cars in there is a fire hazard.

Such an incredible loss.

Presuming the out-buildings where the collection was stored was not fire sprinklered.

It will be interesting how the insurance companies respond to this claim, due to lack of fire sprinkler coverage.
