I accomplished a whole lot of nothing this past weekend. Went outside to spray the first dose of Aerokroil on the Mighty Dodge's license plate screws, and stopped without spraying when I saw that my best friend's business plate frames were on the truck. You know, the best friend who died from COVID last weekend. Too soon to take them off.

I did spend several hours yesterday doing my homework on another interesting lot in South Carolina that we might want to purchase for our retirement house. Put together a list of 8 questions for the listing agent, which will decide if I'm going to be making a trip down there next weekend to walk the land and put in an offer.....

Helped my pops install 2 out of 6 underground downspouts and pop-up drains.

We didn't use PVC pipes we used flexible plastic pipes.

When we got the house built in 2015, the builders just added the downspouts in the front of the house where the landscaping was done.

So every time it rained, the landscaping would get all messed up including the mulch.

We brought a drain spout extension a few months after moving in to extend the downspout to the driveway.

Friday morning, we noticed the sidewalk leading to the front door was sinking because of the drain sput extension. So, we rushed to Menards and brought some material to install the drain spout underground with the pop-up drains.

Looks like this:

Buddies bachelor party in Asheville. On day two of my hangover. About vomited at the gym this morning and wanted to call in sick, didn't though. Was a solid time that's for sure!

As suspected, a whole lot of nothing was accomplished.
Saturday went to a Stone Crab place for lunch but the place was not looking like you would want to eat Stone Crab from there so we had a drink and left. Hit up a market on the way home for some fresh fish.
Sunday, just drank next to the pool and watched some movies.

Was in Nashville, TN last Thursday, April 15th and came back home yesterday. Surprised my wife for her birthday. A few pretty high bar tabs though...

My plans for this coming weekend are rapidly starting to come together. I made a (tentative) appointment with a real estate agent to see a parcel of land in SC that I'm interested in on Saturday. Now, I just need to figure out how I'm getting there from upstate NY. Usually a no-brainer to take the Mighty Dodge (our road trip vehicle), but I haven't had the AC fixed since I discovered it was broken in February. Looks like we'll be renting a car for the weekend.....

This could be a challenge. Maybe not in your neck of the woods but there is a national shortage of rental cars. They all sold off their fleets last year, Enterprise for cash flow and HERTZ for bankruptcy and now that many manufacturing plants were closed for COVID there aren't enough cars to go around.

Dark green. It went so well, I ordered the fronts for next weekend. The rear is solid, and doesn't bounce. The floundering in the front when swerving down the road is now unacceptable, and all the rubber on the top is cracked.

Also swamped the interior (almost literally, with a towel and Simple Green) then pulled the rear seat out of the rafter, since I needn't plug in the battery every time I want to drive. Quite a bit less noise with that seat in!

Wait...are you implying that you only have downspouts in the front of the house? If so, your mulch will be saved but you'll have pooling around the pop-up. You'll want to put in a dry well underneath and use a plumber's T to minimize water pooling in the pipe (especially when it is freezing outside).

Went to a pick 'n pull last weekend. Got the battery tray I needed for wifey's car and also pulled the mount bracket that her fuse box and air filter housing mount to. I noticed one of the flanges on hers was rusted through.

Got the tray in along w/ a fresh battery and her car is back up and running. Did not end up replacing the other bracket, since 3 of the bolts were so far gone/corroded. 2 of them seemed to put some body mount tabs at risk for tearing off and I'd have no wat to tack or weld them back on. The airbox is held in place w/ 1 mount and the short (but sturdy) hose to the MAF and engine... Been like that for probably quite a while w/o issue so..... I'll pet q shop deap w/ it when she gets her AC fixed.

Did yardwork afterwards. Still need to spray weeds.....soooo many dandelions and wood sorel coming in.

Actually, the first option was relaxing in Ft Lauderdale and then it turned to the Dominican Republic. We will be in Exuma, Bahamas in 3 weeks so we said let's save a quick getaway for July. The problem is now I'm bummed and still want to go somewhere

Nope, we have 3 in the front. We only put 2 out of the 3 underground.

We have a total of I think 10 downspouts around the whole house.

8 more to go

Not a weekend today but went with my friend to look at this 2016 328. 35k miles dealer is asking $21k

Not a bad deal. But, I am not a fan of the interior color. To light imo

Looking at the extended weather forecast, it looks like I'll be walking around a piece of SC land that I'm investigating for possible purchase in the rain/mud on Saturday. Currently a 100% chance of rain.

On the bright side, I'll have the opportunity to see how it drains.....

You know it! I really don't care about that as much because I heard the water can be nasty. I'm excited for 9 days away and to see that gorgeous water. It's been to long!

Front shocks for the bug arrive today.
Grass is growing really well right now. Warm enough, without too much heat, and dew at night. So probably a spin around the yard behind the mower.
G01 gonna need a bath
Began next Dune book, will need some time in Palacio del Sol
