Stella soaking up the sun over the weekend. Feels like she was just at the groomers, but already needs a cut. The upcoming Charleston summer is going to be a rude awakening for her haha. We constantly trim around her eyes, but you can never see them. Probably explains why she has awful mouth-eye coordination (sucks at catching shit lol)

We trimmed our mini-schnauzer last week...well my wife did. First time doing it and it turned out pretty good.

It helps when they are used to being groomed on a regular basis.

So after my daughters cat falling ill and passing...she has been volunteering at a local rescue shelter when she is off shift from the hospital.

She and my Son-in-law adopted two brothers yesterday.

We keep ours in our eat in kitchen where we eat most meals and can enjoy the fish while enjoying food. We have had this tank for about 6 months and it's our first. We have lost 8-9 fish so far but I think we are finally getting the hang of it. We were getting ready to add more before covid. Right now we have two angels, black shark, parrot fish and two silver dollars.

We are planning on getting a 135gal for our dining room in the future. Saltwater fish are so freaking cool, I am just concerned we don't have the room for all the equipment needed to keep it running well. I can live with the work and the failure early on just not sure where I could put it. I am planning on putting the tank on top of the piece of furniture attached. All equipment would have to fit below. Thoughts?
I thought that was a bowfront... didn't realize it was a full corner tank. Awesome

Most people out there have sumps under their stands...it's normal. All I can tell you is that you will want to make everything as easy as possible. If it's too hard to do a water change, you're less prone to do one. Keep maintenance in mind when designing your setup. You'll want to succeed.

For the tank...what are you looking to keep in it (fish, coral, what types of). Have a plan before you start...make sure what you want fits the "wife's" budget. Then make sure you can double that when you get really deep into it. Last thing you want to find out is that prize fish you want to get is too big for the tank you plan (example, I'd love a sohal tang...found my 220 isnt big enough )

I'd like to say, do t go cheap with plans to upgrade down the road either...you find that it's just tossing money out the window. Plan, process, execute correctly.

Reef2Reef and ReefCentral are your friends. Look at what people have...look at their setups...ask questions. Plenty of folks in your shoes looking to get in...plenty of us have been there and love to help.

Your start...
Reef ready tank
Sump
Stand
Return pump
Quality heater
Skimmer
Internal water pumps/gyre for flow
Lighting
Reverse Osmosis & deionized. RODI.

Then you have..live rock and sand (if you want sand)

Lastly...as much as you think you can use parts from your freshwater tank, you really can't. Two different worlds...I tried...didn't work.

Feel free to ask me any questions...I'll help where I can PM me if needed...

Those are some cute ruby Cav pups! Our Hyundai pedigree tri-color pup is turning out to be the best puppy we've ever had. Way easier than his Masaratti-pedigree predecessor ever was, this one's a very quick learner with a high will to please.

I hope yours are just as easy.

This is Littlebear @ maybe 12wks. He was reincarnated. I mean, he never did anything wrong. We didn't have to teach him a thing. Easiest dog ever made.
He visited Nursing homes, but we also used him to socialize problem dogs. The other owner would say, " my dog's going to bite him...", but I would say, "Let's see what Littlebear thinks". He was a "doggie diplomat", & had an amazing read of other dogs & people. RIP
