New 2007 face lift 5er pics
Well I like the new 2007
it not much of a face lift on the outer skin which is good they kept the same shape thank god. They kept the same shape on the lights which is good. I good thing is that the back end of the wheel arch is not like the MB which sticks out like a shor thumb thank god too, it blends in more much better and smoother. I love the intee layout much better. I wonder if my sway and tower bars will fit on this 2007 5er Basicly I like it even better. Itis tempting to order 1. well here are the computer render pics that i grabed from the web. |

i can't see what's different, really. these "promo" shots always look better than real ones but even on these pics, i can't tell the difference.

I like it. i really don't care what differences in the old and new. based on the photos, this car just looks sooooo sweet. wonder if any non cosmetic features are on the new version?

I really like the 5 series and therefore like the minor changes on the outside. On the inside I think they did a great job and technologically, they went all DI with the engine line-up so that's good.
I am afraid for the re-design in 2010-11 when, if Autobild and Huckfeld are right, the rear lights will look a bit too generic.

The re-design will be interesting to see in a few years. The current gen of 5 series has to be the most controversial bimmer ever released.

That would in fact be the 7 series, when it was introduced. And then followed the Z4. The 5 series was not as controversial as those 2.

Much, much better! They really subdued the ugly that was having it's way with this car. It's still a 'precision barge', but it isn't a total eyesore now. THe sideskirts diffuse the "slab" sides nicely, and the rear is a massive step away from Bangle. They should still nix iDrive as a standard option. I have it and love it, but it is a matter of taste and really limits the experience for many older customers.... as in almost all 5-series customers. Without Nav, iDrive is much less novel. It looks like a LWB e90 now, & with better tail lights.
