E61 530D M57 M sport auto box service any tip tricks or pointers?
Hi All
Came to forum for a problem and thought best folks to ask were you lot, cars just hit 188000mls, get occasional gear box warming flash up but doesn't seem to cause any issues and goes away once restarted, cars got the paddle shift fitted I think from M5 according to last owner which is nice, looking through history and box had service at 99150mls. And then again 124250mls when it had all the glow plugs changed and sump replaced pervious owner said there was a small leak, so while having the full service had it taken care of as well have bill here for £1126.42. When I bought the car I did service and did rear diff oil 4500miles ago no issues just want to keep on top, it's a really nice motor much better than I expected. Going by google I see around the 90K its worth doing Auto box Sump and fluids anything else worth doing while there and anything to avoid? What's best for sealing the pan back on? I have got use of a ramp at a friends place but need to do everything in one shot as space is limited and car needs to be in and out in a day, can't see it being a problem have rebuilt turbo's etc, I will most probably do you usual YouTube night before. Is there any problem using none genuine BMW parts say from Euro's etc as can get trade rates and to be fair I have more things that need paying than the stealerships Cheers for any tips you can put my way |
