Installed a apple carplay module but no noise

I installed an aftermarket e60 screen for my 2005 530i ccc screen and it turns on and pairs with my phone good but I can’t get no noise whatsoever, I connected the fiber optic cable to the new harness too and still nothing. Nor can I use my idrive knob and when I try to go back to the original screen it just gives me a static screen still without noise. my steering wheel buttons work tho such as I can turn on siri, switch songs, pause songs and also end calls if someone called me. so I don’t know if there’s something else I have to do or just “suffer” without apple car play and go with the orginal ccc screen and use a bluetooth transmitter since I don’t have aux either. some people are saying to upgrade to a cic screen and idrive knobs but I wanted to come here and see what I can do.

Which one did you buy? I bought one and I am having intermittent sound. It's like the bluetooth from the car is turning on and off.

Hi. Hope you found a solution Daniel

Sounds like the MOST loop might be broken, which would explain the no sound. Even if the fibre optic cable is plugged in, it needs to complete the loop—otherwise, the amp won’t work.
Also, most Android units don’t support CCC iDrive knobs unless there’s a decoder.

The static on your original screen could mean something’s not wired back correctly—try a full reconnect and battery reset.

If the car has no AUX, you might need to enable it via coding or use a MOST-to-AUX adapter for sound.
