e60 AUX issue, can't select AUX as source
Hey all.
I have a '10 535i with a M-ASK unit that I installed one of those 8.8 inch upgraded infotainment screens into with car-play/android auto. The unit outputs sound through AUX. When I go into my sources, AUX is there (it just says 'AUX' though, not 'AUX audio' like I've seen in some videos), it is not grayed out, but when I try to select it, it does not select, the source just remains on whatever the previous source was (FM radio). I was initially trying with the AUX jack in the armrest/center console. I've tried plugging in an iPad just to rule out if it was the new infotainment screen, but the iPad didn't work either. I tried another aux cable, inserting the pins into the infotainment harness, that did not work either. I figured maybe the car wasn't coded right, so I read the trace file and AUX was set to 'activ', so I really don't know what the deal is at this point. Hoping one of you can nudge me in the right direction, or can drop the name of a member who know the audio/nav systems well. ![]() Thanks in advance! Cheers! I know your post is a few years old now, but if you're still on here, did you ever figure out the auxiliary issue in your 535i? I have an 08 528i e60 that I put an android ccc monitor like yours in and have done everything you have and auxiliary shows up white on the screen, not auxiliary audio and won't allow me to select it, the exact same issue you were having and none of my research in any forum, on Google or YouTube had addressed this specific issue so I'm at a loss. I've even plugged the auxiliary cable from my phone straight into the auxiliary outputs and inputs in the harness that came with the android screen and nothing works. I seriously just want to Grey out the fm radio from the stock unit so that the stock radio can't be used and just hardwire a different aftermarket head unit straight into the factory harness for the speakers and have it's own separate power and ground because the stock bluetooth, auxiliary and usb neither one work properly if at all for a couple of them.
