Hello!
Hey all... I'm new here. Just got my first BMW and it has loads of issues... hopefully not more than the owner said. But I like a challenge. We'll see if I feel the same way in a year. :P

Hello everyone, we are a new sponsor to the Bimmerpost forum, and I have a burning question! I've always loved the E60 M5, and you can get low mile examples for great prices all things considered... Are they really that big of a nightmare/potential grenade? Or if I get a clean example with a reliable independent to look after it, would I be alright?

Hello to everyone, I have an 08' 535i 6mt with a full M5 body/brake/suspension conversion, 19T's and PI. Continuing to build, looking for a complete M5 interior, and a single turbo kit that'll meet my power goals.

Posted before have BMW 535i 240000 miles. Lost the starter this week. So I want to update the TS. The started was completely shot. There were no ground contact brushes left. The solenoid would not fire. It appears the ground for the solenoid goes the ground brush set visa the armature. So it was completely dead. Just FYI on the starter.
The real reason I am writing is to address surging around 3000 rpm. light load or medium load. When I had the entire left side of the engine off I noticed the two original rubber vacuum lines coming from the HPFP were loose on the nipples. These lines go over the valve cover and to the canisters. I replaced these with small diameter silicone lines, all the way back to the canisters. No surging. If any one has a reasonable explanation as to why this stopped the surging I'd like you input. Any how car is still going strong. Walnut blasting for the first time in September. by then I'll have a solid 250000 miles. Lost the rear driver swing arm bushings last year. 2 hour job So far I have about 6 k into this car. No oil burn, new turbos, alt, water pump, ac comp, VCgasket, oilpan gasket, motor mounts, belt pullys and belts. 2 expansion containers. |

Good afternoon everyone,
Nice to meet you all — I'm new here and recently picked up my first BMW! It’s a 2010 E60 520d with just 68,000km on the clock and loaded with optional extras. Interior is in great shape overall, though it looks like the car spent a fair bit of time outdoors without much TLC. The rear parcel shelf is badly sun-bleached, courtesy of the Aussie sun, and the leather seats needed a deep clean and conditioning — which I’ve already done and they’ve come up great. Planning to remove the parcel shelf and respray it this weekend. |

Hello all, I've got a 2010 E60 535IX with M package my second BMW, I previously had a 2018 BMW 330IX with M package(sold it when my kid was born), i purchased the car earlier in the year, I love the car (so does my kid) but I have been chasing some issues since, I've replaced 1 O2 sensor, spark plugs, coil packs and new tires. car is driving pretty good and is a blast to drive... I'm still dealing with a check engine light due to a misfire that's only around on cold start. Slowly but surely lol

Hi all,
New here, thought I’d join considering the amount of google searches that I’ve been doing and this forum always comes up I’ve got a grey 2005 525D E61 so a pre lci with tan interior, on 19” M225s. Looks great! Only had it a month so far, after coming across from Audis’ and Subarus, love the thing but boy it’s got some wiring bodges and mechanical gremlins. Slowly working my way through the wiring issues and snags! |

Howdy!
New here and just wanted to say Hi! I guess I'm a newcomer to the... let's call it privilege of putting back together my used BMW purchase. 2007 525xi here, with just over 150k miles. Little dealer I bought it from cut some corners on the repairs and now I'm paying the price about a year later. Live and learn, I guess. Next time I'll test/flush all of the fluids immediately when I purchase and make sure it's set up with the proper coolant... etc... |
