I came across this video on YouTube and thought it was well done. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the series highlighting the rest of the M3 generations.

Always wanted one of these. I eventually built a full sport evo motor with the exception of the oil squirters, using a sport evo cylinder head.

I had a 17 year love affair with the E30 M3.

I've driven all 5 and owned an E46 M3 as well and as the videographer states , " they all have to live up to the this one ".

Unfortunately , as great as the M3 CS is.. its lost the plot compared to the E30 M3 as it's clearly a rebadged 5er in comparison to the rest of the lot.

I feel like they should've used the M4 GTS in the video instead of the M3 CS. I understand the badge on the coupe no longer says "M3" but regardless of that, it's still the coupe version of the car.

That's BMWs fault. They could (should) have left the 3er a coupe and made the sedan the 4er which would have retained M3 coupe and moved the sedan to the 4er name up to M4.

The silliest part is they immediately muddled things by coming out with a 4er " gran coupe" that didn't match the fact that the 3er had 4 doors and the 4er only two.

A 4 series sedan and four door gran coupe with a lower roofline would have been far more coherent. But yeah.

Perhaps someone will make a series that includes all the legendary small coupes from BMW... E30 M3, E36 M3, E46 M3, 1M, and M2.

Just give me that E30 M3 and you can keep the rest of them. Still looks the best out of all of them. Still makes my mouth water after all these years.

When they released the (1M) the BMW M development team clearly stated the 1M was/is the modern E30.
