Electrical systems turning off

Hello, I have an E61 530D 160kw 2005 and there's a problem that has started to develop but I can't get a hang off exactly what is it, so I thought I'm going to ask here. I have been looking around the forum for an answer but I could find an exact one, so I thought I'll create my own thread.

So anyways, the car decides to randomly deactivate all the electrical systems and almost instantly turn them back on, after this happens I get a transmission fault, an ABS fault, a run flat fault and sometimes even the steering wheel gets heavy and the transmission doesn't shift gears. This mainly happens after you give a lot of gas (3-4k rpms), it has happened without high rpms but not often. I imagine why this is happening because the battery gets overcharged up to 18V and the safety disconnects everything to protect it. I haven't had the chance to hook it up to a diagnostics tool yet, so I'd thought someone could help me here by any chance. Thanks!

Check your battery terminals. I just changed the battery on mine and the negative terminal wasn’t fully tightened down all the way.

Did the same exact thing as what’s happening to you. Bump in the road makes the connection to the battery stop for a split second and turn back on.

Hope this helps. To get the awd/4x4 malfunction to stop, just turn your wheel all the way left, then all the way right a couple times. It’ll reset.

I have changed the battery like 3 weeks ago, the problem seemed to have dissapeared, but then after a week or so it started again.

You made sure they were fully tightened down? I thought mine was, but it was slightly loose, which led to it cutting power a couple times.

Did you also register the battery after you put the new one in? That could cause you issues if you didn’t. If it’s a different type of battery, you may need to code it as well after registering.
