AIG rally

Aig went up almost 40% since yesterday's end of day rally, I don't know what I should do, for the 1st time in almost a year im finally even if I sell, but I don't want to miss the opportunity if this keeps on shooting based on the new CEO and improved relations with Greenberg. What do you guys think?

Sell half now and try to hop back on if it dips? or hold on for the ride?

im about 10K in

Thanks

on 1 hand Im pretty sure this is a giant short squeeze, but on the other hand for the past month, AIG's been uptick on a big gain, then flat ouut, then uptick huge again, then flat out.

I don't know man!!! Urghhhh

if you can hold it in the red for that long, you need to have the same appetite for risk on the upside....

the old adage.... risk 8 ticks to make 1 tick is not going to get you far is definitely the case here...

ya I know, its just that I don't see this 40% in 24 hours sustainable and I figured most of these is based on the new CEO working with Greenberg, if that fell thru since Greenberg is still being sued I can see how the stock could come tumbling back down. Then I will be back in for more...hopefully
I see what you are saying tho.

unless you follow a systematic approach, you're playing a loosing battle....

not only that, but what's the time frame you're looking at? do you invest or do you trade?

you have to be able to take some heat if you want to be profitable...

i'd give up my first born if i could get a trading system that buy's the bid and sells the ask all day

Sept 60 calls are fetching some big premiums. last bid-offer 2.67/2.70...vols are way up...seems a big number for a contract 12 bucks out of the money.

Dont know boys......might be throwing on a few calls soon.....

I'd sell the 50 straddle, delta hedge and take the vega.

I look at dumping it as a gamble.

Far fetched for it to weaken much below 35-40 range IMO. Then, knocks on table, it will sneak it's way up to 100....

How long before this happens? Only the wizard knows all.

Dropping like a brick.

My call on a low of around 35 is happening sooner rather than later. YiKeS!

WASHINGTON -- Two senior House Republican lawmakers are calling for an audit of the trust set up to manage the government's 80% stake in American International Group Inc., claiming the trustees are free to act against the wishes of U.S. taxpayers and officials.

I think something i read somewhere makes most sense: There is no reason to hold AIG.

It isn't even speculative. I'd rather fancy my chances at F before ending here.
