Windshield wipers get stuck

Hello!

So I was driving on nice country road when all of a sudden it started raining. I turned my wipers on and after a few wipes they got stuck at a 12 a clock position. I could hear the motor making a sound while they were up so I pushed them gently and then they went back down. I tried to start the wipers again and still the same. Has anybody had the same problem? The wipers don't move slower. They just need a little help after getting up.
