265 square for track?

Anyone run this size tire on the track?

I want to run 265 square on 18s with r compound tire but am unsure if its large enough for the power this car generates.

I imagine going r compound in a smaller tire is better than a street compound with a larger tire, but i'd like your opinions on this.

Thanks

IMO, a 265 r compound would be OK. Sure, bigger might be better but the compound will make more difference than 20 or 30mm. As you suggest, an r compound in a 265 will likely grip far better than a 275 or 285 in a PSS.

Edit... your issue but be excessive TC interference by messing up the front/rear diameter vs. OEM. Unless you run DSC off that is...

I struggle to put the power down with a 275 rear. It still works, I just have to be more patient with the throttle.

A 265 rear would only make this worse IMO .
