But Eddie Van Halen, Steve Stevens and Satriani too, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn etc etc.

He means Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Stevens played with a lot of big name acts.

Started (and now back with!!!) with Rage, but also heard with Audioslave.

Asking who the best guitarist ever is like asking what the best car is... Vague. I agree with some of the submissions above... And would like to add John Petrucci. Even though Victor Wooten is a bassist, I'll rep him any day.

Most people can't handle it... But there are countless amazing guitarists/musicians in the various hardcore scenes
