Is the X5's headlight broken?

Hi folks,

I just bought a new 2018 X5 xDrive 35i two weeks ago and is getting used to the car.

I noticed that when I turned on the low beam, only the outer light will turn on. I tried high beam, turned the steering wheel (thought its a cornering light) but the inner light still won't turn on.

Is the headlight broken? I have attached a photo of the headlight.

Nothing broken, it's a dummy lens.

In the UK its the cornering light and come on when the steering wheel is turned left or right.

You need to upgrade to the LED to have all 4 lights lit up.

Outer light is your low and high beam. A shutter opens inside for high beam.
The inner light on other bmws is sometimes used for a cornering light. On the x5 though, the fog lights are your cornering lights. In the usa at least.... So your inner light is fake.

Seem like 2018 they made the low/high beam as the bi-xenon.

My 2015 had the middle as the high beam and also the turn signal on the top portion (Like the eye brows)

The 2018 is the ugly yellow corner bulb.
When I build my 18 - they didn't have 1900 option for full LED.

Now I go on the bmwusa.com website and it looks like they added back that option.
I would have added the 1900 as my headlight doesn't seem as bright as my 2015.

Yes. The led use both inner and outer lamp. Upper halves is low beam and lower halves is high beam.
