Question Need HELP choosing a car for my mom

O.k so my mother is looking for a car to lease but she does not know with car is better. this are her options

Volvo s40 auto, leather int, mp3 radio, bluetooth electric seats etc most of the options except for GPS and our seller is giving us for $28k

the other option is the new Altima full equipped with GPS the guy is giving it us for 29.500K

now the other one is a WV jetta wolfsburg edition that comes with leather mp3 nice wheels and that it and is about $23K

now remember guys is for a mom not for me so she will probably be with my sister and my grandma.

with one should I choose for her ?? she told me that she does not mind

I voted for the Altima.

When I was selling cars at Subaru (just over a year ago), the service for the Volvo dealership across the street was always packed. They actually sent half the cars down the street to Toyota since they didn't have enough bays to work on the cars. That; and horror stories I've heard have turned me away from Volvo.

The VW is nice, but I consider it more of a young person's car.

See if the guy at Nissan will work on the price. Explain that you don't really want/need nav., so why should you pay for it.

They all suck dude. Well, maybe not so much the Jetta, but I wouldn't want my Mom driving one. Plus we need to know what kind of driver your Mom is and what she's looking for in a car.

If it were my Mom, she just wants cheap-ish, reliable, safe transportation that's somewhat nice. And she's way cheap so there's no way she'd spend 30+ on what she'd refer to as just a car. I'd make her get a Honda Accord and be done with it. Because I def wouldn't want to hear her bitching each time the VW was in the shop. Or about how small the trunk/backseat of the S40 was. Or about how horribly the interior of the Altima was holding up.

How about an IS250?

VW has awful reliability. A friend of mine just bought a new jetta last year and has had a million problems with it. I believe her car doesnt even have 20k miles on it...

She is selling the car as we speak because of the problems she has had...

Congrats to your mom on her new car. I was going to suggest a Lexus RX SUV. They are a good "mom car," and hold up extremely well. A little more expensive than she's looking for, though. Maybe a Honda Pilot. Mitsubishi Outlander sounds just fine, too.

For "mom cars," I think reliable, comfortable, and with some room. VW Jetta and S40 look nice, IMO, but are too small and unreliable for a mom.
