Best 3/8" ratchet - 2023/2024 edition

I believe, if you check, Craftsman is no longer what it used to be when Sears existed. I think they carry a lifetime warranty but it's now harder to get replacement under that warranty without Sears. They are made by Stanley/Black&Decker mainly in China. One of my flexible head ratchets has a cracked plastic handle. I'll see what Lowe's does for warranty!

Keep your original and wrap the plastic in a handlebar tape or electrician tape. I have an old black handle flex head that's cracked.

I broke a Craftsman torx bit and returned last week it for a replacement with no hassle at Ace Hardware. I don’t know where I purchased the bit and Ace asked no questions.

Had a set of craftsman stuff since the 90s still doing fine. I've broken tons of bits but the ratchets and wrenches won't quit.

I'm in the DIY market and really like the Husky tools from Home Depot. They remind me of the Craftsman tools before Craftsman went down hill. My dad was a professional mechanic and he swore by SnapOn. They are very nice, but over-priced for even hard-core DIY in my opinion.

Well, not so true! I bought a 60V chainsaw a few years ago which suddenly quit on me. One phone call and there was a NEW replacement in the mail. Was crazy because I expected to either send it back for repair or be given a local repair drop off location. So their warranty is still good, the unit had a 5 year warranty by the way. Reinforced my decision to stand by the product.

The Tekton SRH31112 is the leading candidate late in the game. 90 tooth ratchet, flex head, quick release >12" length. And a U.S.-based company. They make some of their tools in the U.S., but not this one. I can live with that.

I have no objection to paying a premium price, but it doesn't appear to be necessary. Another plus for the $46 Tekton.
