A few guys with the JB3 Stage 1 have gone but I'm not sure what they are running exactly...I've heard high 12s low 13s with just the tune alone.

no official results as far as I know but I know a few have gone and got the information from cross-talk from people that are testing the "other" tune, as well as myself. I do remember reading someone running a 13.3, or so, completely stock. So high 12's does make sense with just the tune. cheers.

lol. ok...
The night got cut short by an accident (motorcycle!). Ambulance and fire trucks came. Didn't look good for the rider who seemed unconscious from where i was standing... i hope he is okay.

As for the n55, it did good. Car kept on getting stronger as autotuning did it's thing. Started off with trap speeds in the 114-115mph range and ended up 117+mph. As explained earlier, the DTC can't launch worth a darn and all my 60" times were in the 2.00-2.15 range. The last two runs:

12.389@117.151 with 2.030s 60'
12.327@117.406 with 2.146s 60'

Trapping at 91.857 and 92.455 respectively in the 1/8th.

So yes, the car has 11s in it with a semi-decent 1.8s 60'.

And with additional mods (FMIC, catless dp and 110oct), I'm guessing it will eventually trap close to 120mph. The big thing right now is to get launch control to work the way we want it to.

As for tuning the n55, it's heaps different than the n54. There is, quite literally, no similarity in how the DMEs work and what it takes to make them happy. The biggest difference, however, is the knock and boost control system. Without isolated boost control and timing control, there is no way anyone is going to make big power out this engine safety or consistently. We are doing some pretty unconventional things with this tune. And it's working great. For a small turbo that has a hard time holding 13psi of boost at 6000rpm, it's moving along very well. And drivability is perfect.

With grip issues sorted, that is an easy 11.8@117.5MPH... with tune, cat back exhaust, meth and DRs, which is impressive even by N54 comparisons. With some more mods (decat, FMIC, Race gas), we should see mid 11s@120MPH. It seems the lighter weight and DCT improve the ET, but we may struggle to match the traps of the N54.. or maybe that turbo will wake up with the cat removed!!

You guys definitely exceeded my expectations by far! When will the tune be ready for purchase?

LSD going in the 135 anytime soon? Will that help with the launch?

Great times. What were the settings on the meth start and max PSI?

Well my guess on your trap speed was correct for your first runs

I think AR Design makes a beefy 4 inch downpipe... should help?

These are very impressive times and speeds (especially for so early in the game). Here is a hypothetical question though; say we own a 335i with steptronic and do not plan to do meth injection and will stick solely with a catless dp and tune (conservative mods), what can we expect then?

Would mid 12's and trapping above 110 be a possiblity?

When I went to the track a few weeks ago with my DCT N55 135 I was able to do burnouts with DTC completely off, I just got in the burnout box in manual mode in 1st and punched....i was able to get a few 2.0 60's on street tires.
