Has anyone modified the door handles on a 2001 X5 (E53)

I have a 2001 X5 4.4i. I’m not sure what year this stopped, but the outside door handles on this model of X5 were designed to pull upwards instead of out. This causes wear on the handle and eventually results with it breaking due to people expecting it to pull outwards. We’ve already had to replace the door handle once and it was not very fun.

Has anyone found a kit or modified the door handles to pull out instead of up, like every standard car? Or maybe know of a way to do so?

Try asking on an X5 forum. Good luck!
