Oh, Laptimer Michael Schumacher version is way over of my budget.

Serious, I am looking for a new watches and I don't have enough knowledge.
My automatic Tag Heuer Links is already 17 years old. I have a few Rolex which are always in my drawer and only wear a less than 5 times.
I don't want to make the same mistakes over and over again.
When I buy it , I like it. But after that ...
Honestly I love my Tag Heuer and wear it everyday.

Lately I saw a few watches which are quit interesting, Cartier and LV can make noise, ; friends' comment is no.

I also saw another AP watch and I will like to hear some comments.
My wife comment is just the same arrangement as my Links and that why I like it.

  • Given that you love your Tag, why do you feel the need to replace it?
  • Why, having several Rolexes, do you not wear them?
Red:
What kinds of things in general do you think you need to know to choose a new watch? Are you a burgeoning curatorial collector?

All the best.

I wear my Tag Heuer for last 17 years everyday. I love it because I bought it when I was 31 years old, it bring me the feeling of been 31 years old.
Every time I wear the Rolex make me feel old and older.
I don't want to lose or brake my feeling at 31 years old.
Must be... I am naive.
I want a remarkable thing that will make remember when I am being older.

I like to know how to appreciated or admire with a watch?
Are Tourbillon a much more appreciated or admire watch?

I you have to figure out how you can appreciate or admire a watch. I certainly can't tell you how to do that.

Blue:
By some people, yes. By other people, no.

All the best.

Hi guys,
I recently looked at an AP royal oak, 15400. After being disappointed in the no date sub in person, I had to see one in person. I tried it on and it definitely changed my mind about it, read up and did research on AP; movements are made in house and everything else is pretty impressive. Just thought I'd share.

If you find that surfing this site and reading about the AP Royal Oak provides you all the appreciation/satisfaction you need, I don't see any reason for you to bother with buying one.

All the best.

Do you plan to buy it as (1) a watch to collect that you'll wear from time to time, or (2) as a watch mostly to wear?

If the former, I suggest going with the 15202, which despite it's nickname, "Jumbo," is actually thinner and 39mm in diameter. If the latter, the 15300 (discontinued, but available pre-owned -- http://www.chrono24.com/en/audemarspiguet/ref-15300.htm -- at very attractive prices). The 15400 is certainly fine, but as the Royal Oak is a watch that wears large, the added size of the 15400 exacerbates that characteristic. At 39mm, the 15300 and 15202 will wear like a larger 40-41mm watch.

In general, at least on casual observation, all three have the same styling. The 15202 lacks a seconds hand and is, IMO, the better watch as goes sartorial flexibility given it's more svelte profile. The 15300 is a little bit thicker, but still fine as goes looking suitable with the dressiest outfits. While I think the 15400 can be worn with suits, it's a bit much for black tie, and it's added heft pushes it more toward the sporty side than the other two versions.

As always, others', including my, thoughts on size and wearing characteristics are best taken with a grain of salt because they reflect that person's impressions based on their wrist/arm, dress style and lifestyle. Trying the watch(s) on yourself is the only way to really know what's best for you, and that's what should drive your final decision.

All the best.
